Your Summoner Name is the heart and soul of any League of Legends player, whether you are supporting your favorite Esports team, to having a cringe nickname your partner gave you, your Summoner Name is a part of you. Although changing your name will not get you out of Bronze, it will definitely make you look the part of a challenger player.

Changing your League of Legends Summoner name is very simple, though it comes at a price each time you want to change it. Here is Esports.gg's quick guide on how to change your Summoner Name.

3. Changing your name: Once you have clicked on the account icon, you will be greeted with the option to change your Summoner Name. There are two ways you can change your Summoner name. Firstly, you can purchase it at 1300 RP, which is $10. If you do not wish to make a purchase with real money, you can also use your Blue Essence to purchase a Summoner Name change which costs 13900.

Blue Essence is League of Legends' in-game currency. You earn Blue Essence through playing matches but also completing challenges.

What is the difference between your Riot account username and Summoner Name?

Over the years, Riot Games has drastically changed its systems, not only for League of Legends but across all of its titles. Each of its games can now be accessed under one hub called the 'Riot Client'.

In 2019, Riot changed the way accounts work with a new universal login system. This system would make players sign in with a username and password - this change would be introduced to counteract identical usernames existing in the database.

Players need to be aware that changing the username does not change your in-game name. Your username is what you will use to log into your account. The Summoner Name in League of Legends could be different from the username you use.
