You’ll notice that as you play The Finals, you’ll be assigned one of several team names for its game show style presentation.

The Finals is a free-to-play first-person shooter from Embark Studios. You and two teammates go up against other teams of three, all with randomized team names. In The Finals, there are 16 team names that you may be given.

The game itself mimics a virtual competition. Players are known as contestants, fighting over cash vaults and trying to collect the most money in order to win. And as you play, you'll hear the in-game commentators call out the team names in a variety of circumstances.

The Finals uses the same 16 team names across all of its modes. You can see which teams are in your lobby by bringing up the scoreboard, or by simply paying attention to the opening cutscene.

The announcers will also shoutout teams as the game progresses. If a team is down to one player, wiped, opens a vault, or starts a cash out, you'll hear short quips specific for that team.

So without further ado, here are all of the team names that The Finals may assign you:

  • The Big Splash
  • The Boundless
  • The High Notes
  • The Jet Setters
  • The Kingfish
  • The Live Wires
  • The Mighty
  • The Powerhouses
  • The Overdogs
  • The Retros
  • The Socialites
  • The Shock and Awe
  • The Steamrollers
  • The Tough Shells
  • The Ultra-Rares
  • The Vogues

If Embark Studios decides to add any additional team names throughout the lifespan of The Finals, we'll update you here.

Can you pick your team name in The Finals?

Unfortunately, there is no way to pick your team's name. When you queue up and find a match, you'll enter the lobby with a randomly assigned team. You receive its color and name without any input of your own.

Perhaps the developers will update this in the future, but you'll have to go with what they give you until then. The team name you're given is simply cosmetic and does not give any benefits towards your loadout or gameplay.
