The Finals game modes explained (Casual, Unranked & Ranked)

There is a great variety of The Finals Game Modes, but each has their own ruleset and format. Here’s a breakdown of all of them!

The Finals is a fast-paced high octane Battle Royale with a bunch of Game Modes, each with their unique twist. However, a universal rule is you don't get points unless you bank any money you earned from kills or objectives.

What are the Game Modes in The Finals?

There are current three game modes in The Finals

  • Quick Cash
  • Bank It
  • Tournament Unranked / Ranked
Quick Cash is a casual game mode using a more team-orientated format

The Finals Quick Cash game mode

Quick Cash and Bank It are the two game modes that are aimed at casual players. In Quick Cash, players have to extract two of the three vaults on the map. Each vault means $10,000. Therefore, you need two vaults to win the match. You fight in a trio against two other teams of three.

The Quick Cash match format is the same as Tournament mode, except it is a best-of-1 match. It also offers unlimited respawn credits. So if you just want a quick hit of The Finals and prefer teamwork over a killing frenzy, Quick Cash is a great option.

Quick Cash rules:

  • First to $20K banked wins the game
  • Each vault worth $10K
  • Best-of-1 match
  • Enemies do not drop coins on death
  • Unlimited respawn credits
Bank It is a casual game mode that rewards kills as well as objectives

The Finals Bank It game mode

In this game mode, players have a limited time to collect as many coins as possible. The round lasts 15 minutes and the mode changes to four trios on the server. The trio that first raises $40,000 or the highest amount in time becomes the winner. Bank It is the best choice if you want a casual game mode that rewards kills, or if you're just starting out playing The Finals - spoiler: it's the most fun.

Bank It rules:

  • First to $40,000 or highest amount by end of timer wins
  • Killing an enemy drops $1,000
  • Best-of-1 match
  • Unlimited respawn credits

Tournament game mode

In The Finals Tournament Mode has Unranked and Ranked. Unranked features an 8-team playoff bracket, and Ranked has a 16-team playoff bracket.

Each match features four teams, with the top 2 progressing to the next round. If you lose a match in Tournament Mode your run is over. However, place top 2 two games in a row (or three for Ranked Mode) and you will reach The Finals - hence the name of the game - where you square off against only 1 other team.

Tournament mode rules

  • 3 rounds, Teams of 3 (or 4 rounds for Ranked)
  • If you Team Wipe an enemy team you take 30% of their cash
  • 1 minute overtime if a cashout is in progress
  • Can't swap weapons mid-round
  • Limited Respawn Credits
  • Place top 2 in the Knockout Stages to progress

Tournament mode is similar to Quick Cash, but it has more vaults and extraction points. Overall Tournament Mode is a lot more unforgiving because you have limited respawn credits and you also can't swap loadout mid-round. If you do reach the final round, it's also much harder to win without coordinated teamwork.

How to unlock Ranked Tournament Mode in The Finals?

Ranked Tournament Mode is not enabled by default and must be unlocked by playing 60 rounds of The Finals. You can play these 60 rounds in any game mode (Quick Cash, Bank it, Unranked Tournament Mode).

The Finals Ranked System has four tiers and you climb by collecting Fame Points (FP).

The rules of the game seem simple, but the destructible environment alongside the various gadgets and Contestant abilities make the game very strategic.
