Fortnite's loot pool has changed significantly in Chapter 7 Season 2, including new weapons and more. Here's a full rundown!

Fortnite’s latest season, called Showdown, is off and running after the game’s usual downtime period. Once servers returned online, an updated loot pool awaited players on the other side. The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 loot pool features new weapons, returning weapons, and items that will heavily impact gameplay.

This article outlines everything included in the ‘Showdown’ season’s lineup of options to build your loadout before you drop in for your inaugural Victory Royale.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 loot pool explained: All weapons and items

The Showdown season offers what Epic Games described as “almost entirely refreshed.” We have new Shotguns, Assault Rifles, SMGs, and more, along with a slew of new and returning items and consumables strewn across the map. Overall, there are some specific weapons worth highlighting.

It wouldn’t be a new Fortnite season with a new Shotgun. In this case, we have the Chaos Reloader version, which is effective at close range and allows only one shot before you have to reload. It’s not ideal for most, but it requires accuracy to be as devastating as Epic Games describes it.

We also have the Vector 7 DMR, which is akin to the game’s other DMR variants. It has a relatively slow fire rate but deals high damage and includes a scope. There is also an Exotic version that will unlock later this season, which will activate a Rift once a shot reaches its destination.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 also includes various other weapons that players can unlock through the game’s ‘Showdown’ event, which we will explain shortly.

Epic Games provided a brief description of the many Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 weapons and what they do; we’ve included this in the list below, where applicable. The new items are in bold and include the description.

Weapons

  • Chaos Reloader Shotgun – A single-fire shotgun with devastating close-range damage. One shell per reload means every shot counts. Automatically reloads when not equipped.
  • Vector 7 DMR – A high-damage scoped rifle with a slower fire rate, designed for precision at range.
  • Seven Cluster Cannon – Fires a cluster of explosive shots after a charged delay.
  • The Foundation’s Rift Rifle – Spawns a rift at your bullet’s impact location.
  • Combat Assault Rifle
  • Nemesis Assault Rifle
  • Iron Pump Shotgun
  • Twin Hammer Shotguns
  • Thunder Burst SMG
  • Twin Mag SMG

Items

  • Seven Power Gloves – Advanced mobility gauntlets with two abilities. Both abilities use up charges that regenerate over time.
  • Ice King’s Gauntlets – Dropped by the Ice King at Frigid Fortress. Fire ice projectiles as your primary attack, or unleash a massive ice storm that deals damage over time in a large area.
  • Bouncing Boomstick – Dynamite that explodes for big damage every time it bounces.
  • Skyline Deployer – Shoot out a zipline you’ll automatically ride to your target location. Any player can use or destroy the zipline once it’s up.
  • Overdrive Grenade – Toss one to impulse yourself or nearby players, granting a temporary boost of movement speed, reload speed, and fire rate to anyone it hits.

  • Slapperoni Pizza – Throw down a pizza box you and the squad can grab slices from. The pizza will give healing and the Slap effect.

Unlocking new weapons and items through Showdown

Showdown is a new event players can participate in to unlock ten items over the next several weeks. You can either sign up for Team Ice King or Team The Foundation. Progress toward each track will unlock one item over time

To make progress, you must utilize the ‘Rivals’ system, where the game will randomly select a Rival that you can eliminate from the opposing faction. Each Duel won will move your faction closer to the next unlockable.

We’ve already outlined and explained a few of the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 weapons and items above, but there are some left off because they aren’t traditional items. The Vault Keys will respectively open the Ice King’s Vault and the Seven Compound Vault. These will likely feature some of the best loot the game has to offer.

Additionally, the Dark Voyager Drones fly around and attack players. It’s unclear whether these will attack everyone or just those on Team The Foundation.

Ultimately, only time will tell how long it will take players to unlock the ten items outlined above. Until then, there are plenty of other weapons and items in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 to experience as the season continues!
