A brand-new season of Taskmaster has arrived, and it features five contestants completing tasks for points. As always, the prize is a golden trophy of Greg Davies' head. Here's everything to know about the game show, including the Taskmaster Season 20 cast, release date, and episode list.

Taskmaster Season 20 release date

Season 20 of Taskmaster kicks off on Sept. 11 with five contestants, including Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith, and Sanjeev Bhaskar. All of them are comedians who bring in items for the prize task at the start of each episode before taking on Alex Horne's various challenges. After a final task at the end, the points are tallied and the winner takes home the items from each prize task.

Ania Magliano

Ania Magliano is a 27-year-old comedian and writer who gained recognition as a finalist in the Funny Women Awards back in 2020. She then won Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2022 with her debut set called "Absolutely No Worries If Not." She has also written for Chicken Shop Date, New World Order, and The Now Show.

Maisie Adam

Maisie Adam is a 31-year-old stand-up comedian who got her first gig in 2016 after trying various temporary roles. She then quickly rose to fame by winning the So You Think You're Funny contest in 2017. Her Edinburgh solo shows, including Vague and Hang Fire, won critical acclaim and led to getting signed with an agent. She also appeared on shows like Mock the Week, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, and Celebrity Mastermind.

Phil Ellis

Phil Ellis is a 43-year-old stand-up comedian. He has always loved comedy since he was a kid, being inspired by shows like Bottom and The Young Ones and comedians like Rik Mayall and Sean Lock. He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe every year since 2013 as well. Just a couple of his many awards include the Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel prize for Funz and Gamez plus the Malcolm Hardee Award for Act That Should Make a Million Quid Ellis one for Soppy Stern.

Reece Shearsmith

Reece Shearsmith is a 56-year-old comedian who began his career as a member of The League of Gentlemen, which won multiple awards such as a BAFTA and the Golden Rose of Montreux. He has since starred in and co-written numerous shows such as Inside No. 9 and Psychoville. Did you know that he appeared in Doctor Who as well?

Sanjeev Bhaskar

Sanjeev Bhaskar is a 61-year-old comedian who is known for the Goodness Gracious Me series and The Kumars at No. 42 sitcom. He also starred in films such as The Guru, Yesterday, and Anita and Me, and appeared on stage in musicals such as Spamalot. His film work in India with Sanjeev Bhaskar, a BBC documentary series, became a Sunday Times bestseller.
