When is the next season of Black Ops 6 arriving?

Season 2 isn't even a week old yet in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but there's always time to look ahead to the future. Whether players want to know when the next content drop is coming or how much time they have to earn seasonal items, knowledge of when Season 3 is coming is quite valuable. While Activision has, of course, not said anything public about the next season yet, we do have a solid idea of when you can expect the update to arrive.

Below, we'll go over the current planned end date of Season 2 and the subsequent release date of Season 3 in Black Ops 6.

Season 3 release date in Black Ops 6

As of right now, the best guess we have for Season 3's arrival in Black Ops 6 is Tuesday, March 18, 2024. This date lines up with the current countdown timer on the Season 2 Battle Pass in Black Ops 6.

However, another date has been floating around the community as a possible release date for some kind of pre-Season 3 update: March 10. If that date sounds familiar to you, it's because March 10 is the same date that Warzone launched five years ago in 2020. Back then, we just had the yearly releases of Call of Duty to look forward to, but Warzone catapulted the franchise back into the spotlight. Now, five years later, Warzone is still going strong as a joint entity of the mainline games.

If you've been following some of Activision's past blog posts, you know that the return of Verdansk is set to happen in the early part of 2025. While nothing is official yet, it seems all but certain that Verdansk is coming to Warzone on March 10. Verdansk was the original map in Warzone and its return has been highly-anticipated by most members of the community.

Of course, this does raise some questions since March 10 is a full week before the current planned Season 3 release date of March 18. Activision could drop Verdansk as one of the last content drops in Season 2 or do a dual launch for Season 3, with Verdansk coming on March 10 and the rest of the content arriving on March 18.

Right now, anything is on the table with Verdansk in play. What we do know is that you can expect Season 3 of Black Ops 6 sometime between March 10 and March 18.
