Here’s how to open all three safes in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2's campaign includes a whole host of new Easter eggs. Just like most Call of Duty story modes, some of them require a little bit of work to uncover. The safes in the MW2 campaign are a prime example of just that.
As part of the extended release of the undeniably huge Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Activision have released the entire campaign a week early to all pre-order owners of the game. More players will get the chance to play the campaign now before multiplayer drops on October 28.
In the campaign, it's possible to find three safes across two different missions. After finding one of the safes, you may be left wondering how to get inside.
Players earn the Gentlemen Thief trophy for unlocking all three safes in the campaign.
Diego El Sin Nombre safe combination
There is one code that can be found in the mission El Sin Nombre. It's a very easy safe to find. Head into Diego's room. You will find the code at the bottom of the portrait painting that can be uncovered in the cupboard near his bathroom.
- The code is: 02-02-19
Open up the safe in Diego's room. The game presents you with some powerful weapons that have full sets of attachments. The one in Diego's room grants a Lockwood 300.
Alone safe combinations
There are two different safes to find and open in the Alone mission of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
Alone safe 1
The first of these is in the coffee shop that you should naturally find yourself in during the campaign mission.
Players craft pry tools using one binding and one metal. You'll need one of these to open this safe. You can open the door to the manager's office in the coffee shop using this. The safe is on the ground next to the desk in the office.
- Alone safe 1 code: 10-10-80
Shine your torch on the calendar above the desk in the office. It's the date of birth of someone who has marked down their 40th birthday.
Alone safe 2
The second safe in the Alone mission is in the El Maistro garage. The garage is on the right side of the road before the tunnel that leads to the church. You have to crawl under a door of the garage and into the office where the second safe is.
- Alone safe 2 code: 37-60-80
This code is on the laptop screen that is in the room. It is open next to a car on a mechanical jack.
