The Maddox RFB has returned to COD, and here’s how to unlock it in Season 1.
After seven long years, the Maddox RFB is making its return to Call of Duty. The iconic assault rifle from Black Ops 4 is being reintroduced in Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 1. The weapon looks virtually the same as it did seven years ago, albeit with a slightly altered iron sight. If you're looking to get your hands on the Maddox RFB at the start of Season 1 in Black Ops 7, there are a couple of ways you can choose to unlock it.
Below, we'll go over every way you can unlock the Maddox RFB in Season 1.
How to unlock the Maddox RFB in Black Ops 7 Season 1
Like all weapons that arrive at the start of a new season in Call of Duty, the Maddox RFB is a Battle Pass weapon in Season 1. This means the primary way to unlock the assault rifle is by progressing through the Battle Pass tiers. In Season 1, there are 100 tiers of content, but Treyarch has made it so you progress through the first half of the tiers much quicker, allowing you to earn the weapons at an expedited rate.
On the Battle Pass, the Maddox RFB is unlocked on Page 6 at the HVT (high-value target). This means you have to unlock every other tier on Page 6 before you unlock the Maddox RFB as the HVT. However, if you continue on in the Battle Pass, you can also unlock a weapon blueprint for the Maddox RFB on Page 14, which is also the HVT for that page.
For those players who might not want to work through the Battle Pass, though, you can skip the line when it comes to unlocking the Maddox RFB. There will be a Store Bundle released at the start of Season 1 that includes a blueprint for the Maddox RFB, allowing you to immediately unlock the weapon. While you won't have the base weapon unlocked, you'll have the blueprint unlocked permanently, even if you choose to Prestige in Black Ops 7 or Warzone.
We're not sure when the Store Bundle will be released, how much it will cost, or what the Maddox RFB blueprint looks like yet. However, you can expect the bundle to launch at or around the start of Season 1 and to be priced at around 1,100-2,400 COD Points.
