If your double kills appear to be not counting in MW2, rest assured that they are and the game is just simply not showing them.

One of the most anticipated parts of any Call of Duty release is the grind. That is especially true with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Players have been giving it their all to unlock weapons, camos, and more. But what happens when some of the required challenges, such as Double Kills, aren't counting after they've occurred in MW2?

Thankfully, it is just a visual bug and the game is counting when you get two kills within three seconds of each other with the same weapon. The bug itself hasn't received a fix, but you can easily remove it from your game. There are a couple of methods, so you'll just need to try them until you determine which ones works for you.

What to do if Double Kills are not counting in MW2

If you are certain you've racked up a number of Double Kills on your way to unlocking a specific weapon camo, but you aren't seeing the kills in the tracker, you aren't alone. Many MW2 players have reported their double kills not counting.

This isn't technically correct. They are counting, they're just not being shown in-game. It can be frustrating, but you can sleep easy knowing that your progress towards that precious weapon camo is in fact saved.

Here are the very easy ways to get around this issue:

  • Completely close MW2 and start the game back up
  • Restart your console or PC after force closing MW2
  • Wait for an official fix by the developers

Some have claimed closing the game or restarting their system has caused their progress to appear. Others have stated it didn't do anything at all, meaning they may have to wait for a fix to come in by Infinity Ward.

Again, though, this problem is just visual. Even if you aren't seeing your Double Kills tracked in MW2, they are definitely counting. The weapon camo will still unlock when you've obtained the required amount. You'll just have to keep tabs on your Double Kills manually if you want to know how far along you are.
