Here is the countdown for PC and XBox players. Folks who wish to play Call of Duty MW3 can access the Call of Duty MW3 Early Access Beta starting Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. PT. According to an official announcement, the Open Beta then becomes available to Xbox and PC players regardless of their preorder status on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. PT.

- PC Early Access: Players who preordered the game on PC via Battle.net or Steam can begin playing the Beta on Oct.12 at 10 a.m. PT.
- Xbox Early Access: Players who preordered the game on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One can begin playing the Beta on Oct.12 at 10 a.m. PT.
- Open Beta: The Beta becomes available to Xbox and PC players regardless of their preorder status on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. PT.
How it works and what to expect
Players can try out Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer, two more maps, and two game modes this weekend. These include the arrival of Cutthroat that features 3v3v3 combat. Below are the details.
- Highrise map: Visit the rooftop of a skyscraper and break out across the multi-level terrain. This map features offices, a helipad, maintenance tunnels, and a crane.
- Orlov Military Base map: Visit a base that features corners and warehouses.
- Cutthroat game mode: This has 3v3v3 combat. The last team standing or the one that captures the overtime flag wins the round.
- Search & Destroy game mode: Take turns defending and destroying bomb sites. There are no respawns.
