
How to get the Call of Duty MW3 Beta
The MW3 beta is coming! Here’s how to make sure you don’t miss out.
Call of Duty is returning on November 10 with another of their yearly instalments and for this year's game they are bringing back the iconic Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) title and the action kicks off with the beta in October.
The Call of Duty MW3 Beta will be available on two separate weekends in October. Players can experience the next CoD title for a total of eight days between those two weekends.
When is the Call of Duty MW3 beta?
There's a bit of a wait until the MW3 beta drops. The first weekend of the MW3 beta starts on October 6, one day after the COD: Next event. The first weekend of the Beta is only available on PlayStation and will run through October 10.

The second weekend will test the game's crossplay capabilities. It will be available on all platforms from October 12-16. This will include all platforms including XBOX and PC.
How to play the MW3 beta
Playing the beta will be pretty simple. It will be available to download on or just before the dates that the beta is live. Players will simply download the game and instal through their chosen platform.
The beta is available on the following platforms at specific times:
- PlayStation: October 6-10 and October 12-16
- XBOX: October 12-16
- PC: October 12-16
October 6-7 and October 12-14 are specifically reserved for players who have pre-purchased Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
Is the MW3 Beta on PlayStation?
Yes! The Call of Duty beta will be available to play on PlayStation. It is available on the following dates:
- October 6-8: MW3 pre-orders and early access members only.
- October 9-10 and 12-16: PlayStation Open Beta

Is the MW3 Beta on XBOX?
It will also be available to play on XBOX consoles but only for half of the duration of the beta. XBOX players will only get one weekend of gameplay whilst PlayStation players get two. The full dates for the XBOX Beta are:
- October 12-14: Early access pre-order beta
- October 15-16: XBOX Open Beta
Is the MW3 Beta on PC?
Yes! The Call of Duty Beta will be available to play on PC and will be available on both Steam and Battle.net platforms. Players will be able to install the beta on the same platform of their pre-order for early access and then either platform for the Open Beta.
Full dates for the PC Beta are:
- October 12-14: Early access beta for pre-orders
- October 15-16: PC Open Beta
How big is the MW3 beta?
The installation size for the MW3 beta is not available yet. Activision-Blizzard or developer Sledgehammer games will make this information available closer to the start time of the event.
