Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 crossplay: All you need to know

You will still need to own the game on the platform of your choice.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise series. The new title has brought with it new maps, weapons, and different mechanics. If you want to play the game you need to know whether MW3 features crossplay and cross-progression. Here’s everything you need to know about Call of Duty Modern Warfare and its crossplay support.

Does Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 support crossplay?

Yes, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has cross-platform support. This means players can compete against and party up with players from any platform. These include PlayStation, Xbox as well as PC.

With cross-platform support, it means you can play with friends who are not on the same system as you. And even if you do play solo, you will be matched up against players from different platforms.

You can add your friends using their Activision ID irrespective of their platform. You can also change your primary platform, such as moving from console to PC or vice versa.

Does Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 have cross-progression?

Yes, Call of Duty has cross-platform progression. Your settings and progression are saved to your Activision account. You can simply log in to your Activision account on any platform and continue from there.

However, it is important to note that you will need to own the game on each platform individually. So if you own the game on PC, you will still need to ensure you own the game on Xbox or PS5 if you wish to continue on those platforms.

There is a way for console Modern Warfare 3 players (players on Xbox and PlayStation) to turn off crossplay. Unfortunately, PC players cannot do so at this time.
