The Grau is back, sort of, and it has a shiny new loadout.
The season 3 update in Call of Duty: Warzone introduced several new weapons to the game, including some fan-favorite guns from the original days of the battle royale. While weapons such as the Kilo 141 and HDR are terrific in Season 3, they're not the only new weapons you can use. The classic Grau assault rifle can also be equipped in Warzone, but the loadout for it needs to stem from the SWAT 556 marksman rifle.
The Grau is a conversion kit for the SWAT 556 that needs to be unlocked through the Season 3 Battle Pass. Once it's unlocked, you gain access to the Grau in all of its glory through the SWAT 556. Below, you can see the loadout we recommend for the Grau conversion kit on the SWAT 556 in Warzone.

Best loadout for the Grau and SWAT 556 in Warzone
As we previously mentioned, this loadout is only possible after you've unlocked the Grau conversion kit for the SWAT 556 in the Season 3 Battle Pass. After the conversion kit is yours, you can head to the loadouts menu in Warzone, select the SWAT 556, and then equip the Grau conversion kit by going to the "Fire Mods" attachment slot.
To fill out the rest of the loadout, take a look at the attachments below:
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor/Compensator
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Magazine: Full-Auto Extended Mag
- Stock: Balanced Stock
- Fire Mods: 5.56 Grau Conversion Kit

As you can see, we have two options for the muzzle attachment slot. The Monolithic Suppressor is the best-in-slot attachment for the muzzle, but it also needs to be unlocked through the Season 3 Battle Pass. This means that some players might not have access to it and will need to use the backup option, which is the Compensator. This works out great, though, as the Compensator makes the Grau much easier to control in terms of vertical recoil.
For the rest of the loadout, we've gone with the Vertical Foregrip for superior horizontal recoil control and the Balanced Stock to slightly boost mobility when running and when aiming down sights. Next, we're using the Full-Auto Extended Mag, bumping up your magazine size to 50 bullets. This also converts your shots to fully automatic instead of semi-automatic, which is the default for the SWAT 556.
Overall, this Grau loadout for the SWAT 556 in Warzone has terrific damage range, decent accuracy, and a high fire rate. You're also using the classic Grau iron sights, which aren't a 1:1 recreation of the original sights, but they're close enough.
