The MP5 may have a different name in MW2 but it is still an ever-reliable killing machine.
The Lachmann Sub, the new name for the MP5 in MW2, is undoubtedly one of the best weapons in the game. But as a result of Infinity Ward's new weapon progression system, it is a little tedious to unlock, due to it being a part of the Lachmann weapon family. Here you will find out how to unlock the Lachmann Sub as well as the best loadout to use on the weapon in the game.
How to unlock the Lachmann Sub in MW2
Due to the new weapon progression system, Infinity Ward has introduced in MW2, it can be a very tedious task trying to unlock the Lachmann Sub. In order to get your hands on the Lachmann Sub you will first need to unlock the Lachmann-762 battle rifle, which you get once you hit Level 16 in-game. From there you will need to get the rifle to Level 13, which will then grant you access to the Lachmann-556 Assault Rifle.
Once you have the Lachmann-556 you will then need to get the Assault Rifle to Level 12, where you will at long last earn the Lachmann Sub weapon receiver. It is a very tiresome task to accomplish, but unlike some of the other weapon tracks, the reward at the end of this one is well worth it.

The best Lachmann Sub loadout in MW2:

- Stock: LM Stockless MOD
- Barrel: L38 Falcon 226mm
- Muzzle: Lockshot KT85
- Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip
Like most SMGs, the Lachmann Sub is at its most effective when used as a run-and-gun type of weapon. This build will allow you to zip across the map as though you were Speedy Gonzalez and deal out a ton of damage to anyone caught in your line of sight. The iron sights on the Lachmann Sub are already pretty good on their own so you don't necessarily have to put a sight on it.
This build will also enable you to become a hip-fire demon thanks to both the Operator Foregrip the Stockless Mod. Meaning that you are less likely to get caught with your pants down when clearing corners.
