Call of Duty unveiled their new Anti-Cheat system Ricochet earlier today, which will hopefully put an end to the cheating epidemic in CoD once and for all.

The Call of Duty community officially unveiled their new Anti-Cheat system Ricochet. The Kernel-Level security system will launch with Call of Duty: Vanguard on November 5.

What Is Ricochet?

Ricochet is a new Kernel-Level Anti-Cheat system designed to deal with the influx of cheaters in Call of Duty. A problem which began to occur on PC shortly after Warzone's release. This system, which is similar to that of Apex: Legend's Easy Anti-Cheat and Rainbow Six: Siege's BattlEye systems, aims to stamp out cheating before it causes a significant problem. It features a vast array of server enhancements and machine learning that aims to stop cheating before it occurs.

Call of Duty opened with this statement in the reveal video which they uploaded to their Twitter page at 1pm EST: "The Ricochet Anti-Cheat Initiative is a multi-faceted approach in Vanguard and Warzone to combat cheating, featuring new server-side tools, enhanced investigation tools, updates to strengthen account security, and more." They later went on to state that Ricochet will be an ever-evolving system and that they will continue to improve upon it once it has officially launched.

This has been met with a heaping of praise from all facets of the CoD community; with many of the top content creators like TimTheTatMan and Nickmercs, eagerly voicing their stamp of approval on social media.

Kernel-level drivers are given a high level of access to monitor and manage software and applications on a PC, such as your PC’s graphics card driver. The driver element of the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system will check the software and applications that attempt to interact and manipulate Call of Duty: Warzone, providing the overall security team more data to bolster security. Players will require the kernel-level driver to play Warzone.

Some parts of the Ricochet will launch alongside Call of Duty Vanguard on November 5. The full launch will then follow Warzone's Pacific Update, which has yet to get a solid release date. While we have yet to see its' effects in action, CoD gamers will be hoping that Ricochet will, at long last, be the key to solving the cheater problem once and for all.
