What are the most awaited events of 2025 in the League of Legends competitive scene? Let’s see what’s on the calendar.
In 2024, League of Legends fans proved how many people the game can bring to see the professional players play. The next year promises to get even more people since the views on international events rise yearly.
The First Stand
For the first time in a while, Riot Games will change the international events format. Next year, we're going to have a third event after the first split, in March - and probably one of the most awaited LoL events of 2025.
The First Stand will feature five teams, the best from every main region: Legends Champions Korea (LCK), League of Legends Pro League (LPL), Americas (LTA), Europe, Middle East, and Africa (LEC), and Asia–Pacific (LCP).
What are the criteria to be eligible to participate?
- LCK: LCK Cup 2025 Champion
- LPL: To be determined
- LTA: Split 1 Playoffs Champion of LTA 2025
- LEC: Champion LEC 2025 Winter Playoffs
- LCP: Champion of the LCP 2025 Season Kickoff Qualifying Series
Since it's the first time of the event, will most likely catch many fans' attention and curiosity to see how it goes and if it's a viable option to maintain in the next season. The First Stand will happen in the LoL Park in Seoul, South Korea from March 10-16, 2025.
Every region will play against each other. The top four teams will advance to the bracket stage. The First Stand will feature the Fearless Draft which means that all champions that have been picked in previous matches by both sides cannot be picked again.
This tournament will be used to seed teams into MSI, but the winning team will not automatically qualify.

Mid-Season Invitational 2025
The Mid-Season Invitational, commonly known as MSI, will be one of the most awaited LoL events of 2025, especially this year when Canadian fans will have the opportunity to watch the competition "at home". The city, venue, and dates are unknown so far. We know the event will happen after the end of the second season which means around July.
In 2024, the MSI featured twelve teams, something that is going to change in the next year. There will be only ten in 2025 which means each region will only have two slots.
League of Legends Worlds 2025
One of the most awaited LoL events of 2025 will definitely be the League of Legends Worlds. Not only is it the biggest event as is the one that brings more fans in presence and online to watch the best teams play. And every year the numbers go higher.
As reported by Esports Charts, the finals matchup between T1 and BLG in the LoL Worlds 2024 drew a peak viewership of 6.9 million and made it the most-watched esports match in history (excluding the audience from Chinese platforms).
In 2023, the peak was 6.4 million people. T1 won the LoL Worlds 2024 event after winning already in 2023. We believe the next year will move more fans to watch since it's uncertain how long will T1's Faker play in the competitive scene.
Small LoL events of 2025
For small events, some might be interesting to watch. For example, Red Bull League of Its Own is a funny event to watch outside of Asia if you want to see T1 and European teams playing against each other.
- Asia Star Challengers Invitational (China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan)
- Esports Championships East Asia (China)
- KeSPA Cup (South Korea)
- Red Bull League of Its Own (Europe)
- Demacia Cup (China)
