HYTE Y70 Persona 3 Reload review – Gaming ’til the Dark Hours

We got the HYTE Y70 Persona 3 Reload case that features S.E.E.S., Strega, and Tartarus in its beautiful decals. Read a detailed review of the HYTE Y70 Persona 3 Reload case, its pros and cons, and my final verdict on this case below.

The HYTE Y70 is already a premium choice of a case. If you're a proud Persona 3 Reload fan, it becomes a better purchase. The HYTE Y70 has five sides, counting the short, "chopped-off" corner, and all of them feature something P3R-related, from straight-up character art to small emblems and insignias.

The three glass panes house the art. Tartarus and the full moon are on the narrowest pane, while the wider ones have Strega and S.E.E.S on them. Meanwhile, the other two sides have the small details.

The long side has the iconic clock, while the backside (where your motherboard ports are) has a small S.E.E.S emblem on it.

As a case, the HYTE Y70 is incredibly accommodating. It has a generous 70.7-liter volume and can fit a ton of fans or multiple radiators, depending on which cooling system you have. This comes at a cost, though, since the case itself weighs in at 10 kg. The actual cost of the case is USD 289.99, as per HYTE's website, which is usually higher than what you would want to spend on a case.

The front panel is on the bottom foot of the case. This implies that it's meant to be placed on a tabletop - if the decals weren't a signal enough. After all, how are you going to appreciate the P3R characters' beauty if you set it on the floor? But, due to its large dimensions, this means that a sizable chunk of your desk is going to be reserved for the tower.

Three sides being glass also allows me to appreciate the RGB lights on my fans more. After all, light is really useful when you're gaming in the dark hours.

Nonetheless, the HYTE Y70 Persona 3 Reload case was a pleasure to work with. To lay out the pros and cons:

The HYTE Y70 arrived mostly pre-assembled. All five side panels were attached, and the only "loose" part in the packaging was the manual. This was a good sign and meant that building this PC was not going to be as complicated as assembling Aigis.

This manual reminded me of the ones that come with small Lego builds, in a positive way. All of the panels can be removed easily without using screwdrivers or a lot of force. The storage bays were also accessible by hand, and one of them had a small box with loose items.

A liberal amount of screws, extra clips, zip ties, velcro, and an audio splitter was contained within the box. The case is dual chamber, with plenty of space that you can use to route your wires through, all protected by rubber hoods.

The building process was quite comfortable, to say the least. If you're a beginner PC builder, the HYTE Y70 is a good case for but you should still consider getting the help of someone more experienced.

It has support for ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards, so you have nothing to worry about regarding your motherboard's form factor. The case even has labels on which screw holes are needed by which form factor!

The case does have a USB 3.1 Type-C connector (also known as USB 3.1 Gen 2) that you have to plug into your motherboard if you want to use the Type-C port in the front panel.

The port for this particular connector is absent on some motherboards. If you want to make full use of your case, make sure you get a motherboard that has it. My TUF Gaming B550-M PLUS WIFI II did not have this header, but the newer B760-M does.

I had a humble Galax RTX 3070, which is 254mm long and 54mm thick. Again, there was more than enough space for this video card. The case can support up to 422mm of GPU length. For reference, the RTX 5090 is only 304mm long. If you have a 50 series, though, note that the riser is only advertised for PCIe 4.0.

Thanks to the riser cable that came pre-installed with the case, I also get to have a nice view of my graphics card. This serves as a good reminder that I'm two generations behind and I probably need an upgrade (no, I don't, inZOI running at 15 frames per second is not a problem).

My motherboard had space for two NVMe SSDs, but my two 3.5" hard drives had to find a new home in the pull-out storage bays.

These storage bays can instead house two 2.5" SATA SSDs each, if you're a file hoarder or just need the extra capacity. However, if you have two HDDs like I do, the remaining SATA ports on your motherboard will have to remain unused.

My CPU cooler was 156mm high, which clears the 180mm maximum that the case supports. I had one intake fan in the back and three exhaust fans blowing out on one side, all of which were 120mm.

The manual says the case can support up to 11 120mm fans. If you're using the bigger 140mm fans, you can find room for up to eight.

Liquid cooling is probably the preferred cooling method for the case. There's enough space for three radiators, and I was bound to run out of ports if I plugged in 11 fans.

You can see through the glass panes, and there is a lot of space in the case for you to put trinkets of your choosing. My choice was this Mori Calliope hololive If (Relax Time) figure with an Ouro Kronii acrylic in the back. I was able to fit them comfortably and was not at any risk of getting tangled in wires or accidentally touching a component.

After my review, I found the HYTE Y70 Persona 3 Reload edition is solid, the space is generous, and the build experience was pleasant. It's a solid choice for anyone, from beginners to veteran PC builders. The Persona 3 Reload decals on this HYTE Y70 don't really look out of place, and don't look like you printed out a sticker and slapped it on there.

There are considerations to be made since it does leave quite a big footprint on your table (and wallet). Overall, as a fan of the Persona franchise and a semi-experienced PC builder, I give the HYTE Y70 Persona 3 Reload case a score of 9/10.
