These update notes are exactly what ZZZ players wanted to hear.

In the very first volume of Ridu Renovation Talk, HoYoverse announced multiple significant updates coming to Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) in the near future. The long list ranges from small aesthetic changes to completely changing how players interact with the game.

The announcement includes information about not only version 1.1, which people expect to arrive within a couple of weeks, but also version 1.2 and other future updates. Community members on social media are rejoicing that HoYo is addressing many of their most pressing complaints.

Changes being made in version 1.1

Version 1.1 is the next big update coming to ZZZ. Players' excitement is growing rapidly thanks to the vast list of improvements HoYo announced in Ridu Renovation Talk Vol. 1. There is no exact date for the update's arrival just yet, but many community members predict its release to be within the next two weeks. Below are all of the great changes you can expect along with it.

Explore New Eridu as the mission protagonist. Belle and Wise may be the game's main characters, but they are not the protagonists of all individual missions. Starting with version 1.1, some story missions will allow you to explore neighborhoods and take on challenges as whichever one of ZZZ's many characters is that mission's protagonist.

Manual and cancellable Chain Attacks. ZZZ version 1.1 will add a "Manual Chain Attack" option before missions, which makes it so that Chain Attacks are not automatically triggered when attacking stunned enemies. Additionally, there will be a "Cancel Chain Attack" option during combat to skip through the Chain Attack timer.

New combat challenges. HoYo will add, and regularly update, a series of "challenging" combat missions and modes starting in ZZZ version 1.1.

More visible attribute resistances. Before Shiyu Defense levels, the challenge details will more clearly display and explain enemies' weaknesses.

Additional Inter-Knot avatars. Proxies will be able to select any of their unlocked Agents as profile pictures.

Customizable mobile controls. ZZZ version 1.1 will allow mobile users to change their battle interface. Some elements of the UI will be customizable within "preset plans."

Updates for ZZZ version 1.2

Beyond version 1.1, HoYo also teased big changes planned for yet another ZZZ update. There are some significant quality-of-life improvements to look forward to.

Fairy Assitance. Once certain requirements are met, Proxies can task previous missions to Fairy. The AI assistant will complete and collect any last remaining rewards that the player failed to get on their own.

Less interruptions during TV time. Character dialogue and other events will no longer interrupt exploration of the "Monitor Array" while in accelerated playback. Additionally, many event animations will be sped up. This update alone answers one of the community's biggest gripes with ZZZ.

Lineup presets. Players will gain the ability to set "Preset Lineups" to make it easier to select Agents for a mission. You will also be able to include or exclude Bangboo from lineups as you wish.

Easier access to training. The version 1.2 update will make accessing Agent Training more convenient, making it easier for ZZZ players to learn and practice character-specific skills.

Infinitely skippable time. Currently, Proxies can only change the time of day by doing missions or resting, the latter of which has a limit of once per day. Version 1.2 will allow you to freely change time once you hit a certain Inter-Knot level.

Brightness adjustments. HoYo will be slightly tweaking the background brightness of some commissions to address feedback from players who found things difficult to see.

Plans for future ZZZ updates

As if two updates worth of changes weren't enough, HoYo went one step even further and shared a few plans for future ZZZ updates.

Wander the city as any Agent. Proxies will no longer be limited to exploring New Eridu as one of the Proxy siblings. HoYo will share more details during "Special Program Livestreams."

Visual model updates. ZZZ Agent models will continue to be updated to address visual glitches and inconsistencies.

UI optimization. HoYo will continue to tweak the menus and combat interfaces with the goal of a smoother, more intuitive gameplay experience.

Overall, this vast list of updates is worthy of the excitement it has sparked within the ZZZ community. Nearly all the most popular complaints and feedback on social media have been addressed, with one glaring exception.

One of, if not the single most widespread issue players have experienced with the game is performance. Many users online report the mobile version of the game becoming unplayable after a few combat sessions, and even high-end PCs struggle to maintain smooth framerates when walking around Lumina Square. Hopefully, these concerns will also be addressed in the near future.
