The first esports event of XDefiant.

XDefiant is launching into competitive play with the All-Star Series. Sixteen pro players will compete in a 4v4 competition for a cash prize pool of $10,000 USD. Each set of the launch tournament will be released on YouTube, rather than streamed live, with the final video releasing on May 21.

When does the XDefiant All-Star Series begin?

The All-Star Series began on May 8, but was not livestreamed. In an interesting move, the tournament released its sets weekly via YouTube. The first video comes out at 1 pm EST/10 AM PST on May 8.

The finals will come out on May 21, the same day that XDefiant launches after an extremely long delay. It seems that XDefiant is preparing to support a competitive esports scene and the All-Star Series will kick it off.

Who is competing in the All-Star Series?

16 players are particpating in the first even XDefiant esports event. Interestingly, all of the players are former Call of Duty pros. The series has divided them into four teams, each headed by a captain. Those captains are Patrick “Aches” Price, Jonathan “Pacman” Tucker, Tyler “TeePee” Polchow, and Damon “Karma” Barlow.

How will the tournament be formatted and what is the cash prize?

The XDefiant All-Star Series format consists of four teams in 4v4 competitive modes. The teams will compete in two “best of five” qualifier matches. Then the winners will move on to the finals, which are a simple best of seven.

The prize pool for the tournament is $10,000 USD, but the champions will also win the “ultimate bragging rights”.
