Team True Potential, who worked on The Remarkable Life of Ibelin, will return with a brand-new World of Warcraft short film on Feb. 12.

Team True Potential may be a name that is unknown to many, but the animation team is one of the most impressive when it comes to World of Warcraft (WoW) related short films. The small team utilizes Blizzard’s game models and textures, adding their own flair and flavor, to make compelling stories that entertain their viewers for a few minutes. While the work that goes into these short films is immense, their work speaks for itself. After almost three years without a short film release, Team True Potential is back.

According to a post made via their X account on Feb. 12, they will finally be releasing their new short titled "Lessons in Magic: Portology."

True Potential and The Remarkable Life of Ibelin

Towards the end of 2024, everyone around the world got to witness a magnificent documentary – The Remarkable Life of Ibelin. The tear-jerking movie tells the story of Mats “Ibelin” Steen, who was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, his character Ibelin, and his time in WoW in the guild Starlight.

Although the documentary deals with WoW, it was heralded by many for the way in which it shows the immortality of characters within a gaming environment. In essence, it shows the friendships he made and the love of the communities within games.

Team True Potential animator and director, Rasmus Tukia, was closely involved with the documentary. As one part of the team, known as "Pivotal," he took on the role of the lead animator for the documentary, bringing some of the most brilliant aspects seen through the movie to life in the best way possible.
