Make way for Waylay, as she dashes and dazzles her way into VALORANT as the newest Duelist Agent to join the party.
If you watched the Grand Final broadcast of VALORANT Masters Bangkok, then you know a new character is coming to the FPS. That new Agent in VALORANT is a Duelist and goes by the name of Waylay. She's a space-taking, light-wielding machine.
And we've got everything you need to know, from her abilities to when she releases.
Who is Waylay?
Since the Masters tournament is in Bangkok, Thailand, our newest Agent is Thai. She's a prismatic radiant that can transform into light itself.
Her space-taking abilities are meant to add another Duelist in the same subset of Jett or Raze. With Waylay coming to VALORANT, she'll fit into a role many players have been asking for.

Here are all of her abilities, which deal with her becoming light or manipulating it in some form:
- Refract: INSTANTLY create a beacon of light on the floor. REACTIVATE to speed back to your beacon as a mote of pure light. You are invulnerable as you travel.
- Light Speed: EQUIP to prepare for a burst of speed. FIRE to dash forward twice. ALT FIRE to dash once. Only your first dash can send you upward.
- Saturate: INSTANTLY throw a cluster of light that explodes upon contact with the ground, HINDERING nearby players with a powerful movement and weapon slow.
- Convergent Paths (Ultimate): EQUIP to focus your prismatic power. FIRE to create an afterimage of yourself that projects a beam of light. After a brief delay, you gain a powerful speed boost and the beam expands, HINDERING other players in the area.
Waylay brings a new debuff to VALORANT called Hindering. Hindering applies a slow effect to fire rate, recoil recovery, equip time, reload speed, movement speed, and jump speed.
When does Waylay release in VALORANT?
You don't have to wait too long to get your hands on Waylay, as the VALORANT Agent releases alongside Season 2025 // Act II. That new Act drops on March 4, 2025 and she'll be available the following day.
At first, you can choose to purchase Waylay to unlock her or activate her contract and earn enough XP to do so. Otherwise, after the contract event ends, you can add her to your roster of Agents with Kingdom Points.
