Four New teams join the frenzy
After a very competitive few days, we now have the matchups for the VCT Masters Shanghai. What started out as a 12-team tournament has now boiled down to just eight teams that will compete through the playoffs. Here are the teams that have qualified and the matchups for the event.
Which teams qualified for the VCT Masters Shanghai Playoffs?
A total of eight teams have qualified for the VCT Masters Shanghai playoffs. The group stage started with a Swiss System format where eight teams competed for four slots into the playoffs. After a few days of intense competition, the following four teams made it to the VCT Shanghai Playoffs
- G2 esports
- GenG Esports
- FUT esports
- Team Heretics
While G2 esports and GenG made it through with an unbeaten record, FUT and Heretics could only make it through with a 2-1 record.

The VCT Masters Shanghai has a million dollar prize pool. It started on May 23 and will come to an end on June 9, 2024. The tournament has the best teams in the world in competition. The winning team will receive $350,000 in prize money while the runners-up gets $200,000.
In addition to the prize money, the winner will also get 3 VCT points which will be useful later in the year. These VCT points will be crucial to determine the final list of invitations to VCT Champs 2024.
All matches of the Playoffs are best-of-three series while the Lower Bracket final and the Grand Final are best-of-five series.
