Riot Games has unveiled Skirmish, a new VALORANT game mode where you can 1v1 your duo in a pure gunfight-focused battle.

VALORANT has introduced a brand-new game mode called Skirmish. Ranging from 1v1 to 5v5, it’s the perfect way to have fun with friends, test out agents’ abilities, or warm up before jumping into ranked. Unlike traditional matches, Skirmish offers a faster pace and removes spike planting.

Skirmish arrives in VALORANT

Skirmish matches last around 7 to 9 minutes and take place across three different maps. You can queue up from 1v1 to 5v5, and with no spike planting required, it’s all about pure aim, gunplay, and skill, making it the perfect quick warm-up before diving into your ranked games.

The mode features three exclusive arenas, Skirmish A, Skirmish B, and Skirmish C, each built as a tight, compact battlefield tailored for fast-paced, high-intensity gunfights.

The official reveal of Skirmish was set for Oct. 3 in the Pujan "FNS" Mehta official stream. Right after the showcase, the mode will go live in-game, available exclusively through the Custom Game option, giving players the chance to explore the new maps and mechanics firsthand.

Champions 2025 Finals Weeknd

The VALORANT Champions 2025 Finals Weekend will have many things to look for. On Oct. 3, aside from the Skirmish revelation, we will also have the two main matches: FNATIC vs NRG, in the Upper Bracket, and DRX vs DRX, in the Lower Bracket. We will also have a developer's update.

On Oct. 4, there will be a major focus on the VALORANT lore side, with a new cinematic and a panel with some of the voice actors of popular characters. Then, you can also see the new custom game mode match between Adrien "ZeratoR" Nougaret and Mandatory, and the Lower Bracket Final.

On October 5, the spotlight shifts to the VALORANT Champions 2025 Grand Finals, accompanied by the reveal of the next agent, a discussion on the 2026 VCT season, the opening ceremony, and plenty more for fans to look forward to.
