The VALORANT EMEA Clash 2026 ignites an Alpha vs. Omega war, as VCT teams collide with the elite Challengers squads.
The EMEA Kickoff tournament is reaching its end, but there’s still plenty of VALORANT to come before Masters Santiago. Hosted and operated by Vanguard, the EMEA Clash steps in as an opportunity for teams that did not qualify for the first international event of the 2026 season.
EMEA Clash 2026
The EMEA Clash 2026 is a "high-stakes collision between the established VCT EMEA titans and the rising stars of the Challengers circuit," all wrapped in a format inspired by VALORANT's lore. At the end of the Kickoff stage, six teams won't be qualifying for the Masters Santiago. As a result, those will be joined by six teams from the Challengers regions, creating a 12-team tournament.
Tournament format
Unlike most tournaments, the EMEA Clash 2026 adopts the Alpha vs. Omega format. There will be two simultaneous double-elimination brackets. By the end of the event, there will be two winners, the Alpha and the Omega champions.
The road through the brackets depends on performance:
- The VCT Elite: The Top 4 teams from VCT EMEA Kickoff 2026 earn a "bye" directly into Round 2
- The Challenger Pool: A randomized draw will determine the placement of the remaining two VCT EMEA teams alongside six Challengers teams
- The Rule: The random draw will guarantee that the 2 VCT EMEA teams from the pool are placed in separate brackets
While the brackets may seem separate, they connect, just like Alpha and Omega. Starting in Round 2, if a team loses in the Upper Bracket of Alpha, they won't just drop down. They will be "cast across dimensions" into the Lower Bracket of Omega. The same applies to those in Omega falling into Alpha.
Gin Tomek, the esports product manager for VCT EMEA, clarified that "participation in EMEA Clash for VCT EMEA teams is purely optional," which means that teams can choose not to be part of the event. "A number of teams confirmed they wouldn’t compete regardless of Kickoff outcome. From the pool of teams that do opt in, the top 6 teams at Kickoff will be selected to compete," he added.
Where to watch the EMEA Clash
