The VALORANT Champions 2024 playoff matches have been drawn, giving us our first look at the opening round battles.

Immediately following the conclusion of Paper Rex vs. EDward Gaming, the draw show began. The Group stage ended and the VALORANT Champions 2024 playoff matches were drawn to determine how the bracket kicks off.

If you're a VALORANT fan, you either absolutely love the chaos of the draw or you hate how it played out. Let's take a look.

Rules of the playoff draw

First, we'll go over the rules they laid out regarding the playoff draw for VALORANT Champions 2024:

  • All four #1 Seed teams from the Group Stage are drawn first
  • #1 Seed teams will only be matched with #2 Seed teams
  • #2 Seed teams cannot play on the same side of the bracket as their group's #1 Seed team
  • If a #2 Seed team is drawn on the same side of the bracket as their group's #1 Seed team, they'll move to the other side of the bracket in the next available slot.

It's a lengthy way of explaining it, but those are the rules. Essentially, teams can't play on the same side of the bracket if they were in the same group. And boy howdy, did that make for some interesting matchups to start the VALORANT Champions 2024 playoffs in Seoul.

Expect the unexpected when this thing starts. And do know that this is not necessarily the schedule of how things play out. The schedule of matches will release soon, so you can check out the full schedule and results to see in what order the opening round happens.
