The VALORANT Champions 2023 prize pool has increased by $1.25 million compared to the amount divided among teams in 2022.

As VALORANT Champions 2023 approaches, players, spectators, and Riot Games are all preparing for the year's flagship tournament. We've our first look at the VCT Anthem. We know what teams will be participating. And now we have a set VALORANT Champions 2023 prize pool.

The prize pool receives a massive jump from the prior year's competition in Istanbul. In 2022, teams fought for the Champions trophy and their share of $1 million. This time around, they'll have a go for 125% more than that, at $2.25 million.

The increase in prize pool is a clear sign that VALORANT is also growing. It has become a premier esports title and Riot Games is doing everything it can to keep the train rolling. This includes sponsorships, franchising prominent organizations, and putting all their faith in the game to deliver an entertaining product.

While the massive increase to the VALORANT Champions 2023 prize pool has some wishing the money was invested in Tier 2 competition, Riot Games is making sure they put on a spectacle for Tier 1. The stakes have never been higher.

Here is how the prize pool is spread out:

  • 1st Place: $1 million
  • 2nd Place: $400,000
  • 3rd Place: $250,000
  • 4th Place: $130,000
  • 5th-6th Place: $85,000
  • 7th-8th Place: $50,000
  • 9th-12th Place: $30,000
  • 13th-16th Place: $20,000

And not to mention the bonus prize money teams will earn from the Champions bundle. Each year, a Champions bundle goes into the VALORANT shop. Riot then dishes out some of the proceeds from that to the teams.

The 2022 Champions bundle earned more than $16 million by the time it expired. Half of that went back to the teams who played their hearts out in Turkey. Expect a similar outcome this year, ensuring each team walks away with a hefty sum no matter their placement in the tournament.
