Details regarding VALORANT Challengers NA 2024 are here, including participating teams and dates the league is in action.

The 2023 VALORANT Challengers NA competition saw The Guard as one of the teams who made it through to Ascension. Now, most of the team is a part of G2 Esports after winning Ascension, taking their spot in VCT Americas. VALORANT Challengers NA 2024 will give more teams an opportunity for promotion.

We'll go over everything you need to know about the league.

Six core rosters from 2023 retain their spots in VALORANT Challengers NA 2024. Six more teams join them after making it through the Open Qualifiers. These teams are:

VALORANT Challengers NA 2024 format and schedule

Teams in VALORANT Challengers NA 2024 are split into two groups. The groups remain the same throughout the entire year, but the second split will see them play cross-group matches. Here is the schedule of the season and how it'll unfold:

  • Stage 1
    • March 19 - April 19
    • Each team will play five total matches, one per week, against each team within their group.
    • Challengers Points will be awarded at the end of the stage, with the same amount for each group.
  • May Promotion and Relegation
    • April 30 - May 2 (Premier Teams Only), May 6 - 7 (Premier vs Challengers)
    • One of the two chances throughout the season for new teams to qualify into Challengers.
    • Two teams with the lowest record in Stage 1 vs. two teams from the Premier system.
    • Features a four team double-elimination tournament.
    • The Upper and Lower Final winners will be promoted into Challengers for Stage 2.
  • Mid Season Cup
    • May 15 - May 19
    • Single elimination tournament for all 12 teams including the newly promoted teams following May Promotion and Relegation.
    • Challenger Points and prizing will be awarded to the top teams.
  • Stage 2
    • May 29 - July 11
    • Groups will remain the same in Stage 2, but teams will be playing cross group.
    • Each team will play six total matches, one per week, against each team of the opposing group.
    • An increased amount of Challenger Points will be awarded at the end of the stage, with the same amount for each group.
    • The top eight teams in overall Challenger Points throughout the season will qualify for the Challengers Final.
  • July Promotion and Relegation
    • July 12 - July 14 (Premier Teams Only), July 15 - July 16 (Premier vs Challengers)
    • Two teams with the lowest record in Stage 2 and two teams from the Premier system.
    • Features a four team double-elimination tournament.
    • The Upper and Lower Final winners will be promoted into Challengers for 2025.
  • Challengers Finals
    • July 22 - July 26 & July 29 - July 31
    • Eight team double-elimination tournament.
    • The 2 teams who advance to the Grand Finals will qualify for the Americas Ascension.

Path to Challengers through VALORANT Premier

May and July have a Promotion and Relegation tournament, as you can see in the schedule above. This allows teams from VALORANT Premier to try and win their way into the VALORANT Challengers NA 2024 and 2025 league.

Episode 8 Act 2 is the first Premier season that feeds into a region's Challengers league. Teams have to place in the Contenders Division to participate, and the top ones battle it out in a bracket format that rewards them their chance to compete against Challengers teams.
