If you’re ready to jump into Episode 6 Act 3, then here are the VALORANT 6.08 patch notes that set the new Act in motion.

VALORANT has reached Episode 6 Act 3, and it kicks off with the 6.08 patch notes. The update brings quite a lot to the first-person shooter. Of course, you have a brand new Battlepass to grind through, but you've also got gameplay adjustments.

Then there are the several bug fixes revolving around basic quality of life and the game's social functions. The biggest things coming out of the VALORANT 6.08 patch notes are the return of Bind at the expense of Icebox and the changes made to Killjoy's utility.

Agents updates found in the VALORANT 6.08 patch notes

Aside from some Agent smokes getting updated targeting visuals, there aren't a ton of Agent changes in the patch. You'll find a couple of things for Gekko, but the majority deals with Killjoy's abilities.

Gekko

  • Audio improvements to Wingman's plant and defuse audio
  • Updated in-game portrait for better readability and quality consistency

Killjoy

  • Nanoswarm reveal radius increased from 350 to 525
  • Nanoswarm audio loop now turns off when disabled due to elimination or suppression
  • Improved feedback for players when they destroy a Nanoswarm
  • Nanoswarm now reveals to players when disabled
  • Yellow warning UI indicator no longer appears for enemy Lockdowns
  • Updated deactivation sounds for Turret and Alarmbot for more distinction

A simple cosmetic update

Another small, but impactful piece of the VALORANT 6.08 patch notes involves the Shorty. The powerful sidearm isn't seeing any gameplay adjustments, but rather pure cosmetic updates. The following versions of the Shorty have been visually upgraded to be in line with the rest of the game's weapons:

  • Default
  • Wunderkind
  • Sidekick
  • Karabasan
  • Prism II
  • Doodle Buds

The big VALORANT 6.08 map rotation

The number one most touted part of the update is definitely the map rotation. Riot Games announced it earlier in Act II and now Act III sees it officially happen. Congratulations to all of the Icebox haters out there. You've finally won.

Bind replaces the map in the competitive and unrated queues. It received quite a few changes that players will finally get to experience. From the teleporter exit near A Site being moved to a window added from B Elbow to B Site, it will surely make a difference in how matches unfold.

A handful of bug fixes

The last set of important details in the VALORANT 6.08 patch notes are the bug fixes. Nothing major needs a fix this time around, but it is nice to know that the dev team resolve little issues without too much of a fuss.

Gameplay Systems

  • "Kick ally off" no longer displays while defusing the Spike
  • The Spike progress bar for planting or defusing no longer visually speeds up or resets randomly
  • An issue where Yoru couldn't drop his weapon while using Dimensional Drift has been fixed

That details everything of importance from the update. If you'd like to read the VALORANT 6.08 patch notes in their entirety, you can do so on the game's official website.
