SR alexis is holding a charity stream on Jan. 25 to honor Cloud9 OXY’s mother, helping to cover funeral costs.

Shopify Rebellion (SR) player Alexis “alexis” Guarrasi will be hosting a charity stream in tribute to Cloud9’s Francis “OXY” Hoang’s late mother. OXY will be stepping away from VCT Americas temporarily. To help OXY and his family, a GoFundMe has also been set up for those who wish to donate.

Cloud9 OXY steps away from VCT America

On Jan. 21, OXY shared the heartbreaking news of his mother’s passing, leading him to take an indefinite break from the VCT Americas 2026: Kickoff Stage. A few days later, SR alexis announced she would be organizing a 12-hour charity stream to help cover the funeral costs. The goal is to raise $15,000.

All the remaining funds will be donated to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, an organization focused on cancer prevention and treatment. "My mom previously battled cancer, so the news about OXY's mom really hit home for me," alexis wrote. "He is also one of the most positive and supportive pros in the VALORANT scene. I'd like to try and help return some of that support for him and his family during this difficult time."

Over 80% of the goal has already been achieved on the GoFundMe official page as of the time of writing. In the description, we can read: "Francis is one of the sweetest souls and will always put others before himself and silently fight the battles life throws at him without a complaint." On X, OXY asked everyone to "pray for his mother, and call your parents because you will never know when it will be your last chance."

In the VCT Americas, Demon1 will be playing as a substitute for OXY. "Everything I do from now it's for OXY," he said on stream.

Charity stream schedule

You can watch the stream on SR alexis official Twitch channel. The stream will be happening on Jan. 25, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. EST / 6 p.m. CET.

Show OXY some love and support at the charity stream. The esports.gg team extends its condolences to OXY and his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
