After five years since its release, the Snowball Fight game mode is returning to VALORANT. This Christmas season is about to get chaotic!

One of the player's favorite Winter season game modes in VALORANT is finally returning to the game: the Snowball Fight. Five years ago, the game mode was released as a temporary mode to celebrate the Christmas season and give players the opportunity to enjoy a festive game mode.

Snowball Fight returns to VALORANT

The Snowball Fight is a 5v5, team deathmatch–style mode where the first team to reach 50 kills takes the win. There are no abilities here. It is just pure chaos, fun, and gameplay. Players can choose any agent and use the Snowball Launcher, a weapon that fires snowballs.

Even though the gun has infinite ammo, you can only fire one snowball at a time and must wait through a short reload. Each snowball deals 150 damage when it hits an enemy player. Normally, each match takes between seven and nine minutes to end. You win 750 XP per game and a bonus of 150 XP if you win the match.

During the match, you can catch orbs that will give you special powers. They can be:

  • Growball: The Snowballs grow over time while travelling in the air
  • Rapid Fire: Infinite magazine, increased rate of fire to 1.667 rounds per second
  • Ricochet: Snowballs can bounce off the ground and walls
  • Skates: Increased movement speed and max jump height

Back in 2020, Riot rewarded players who completed a match of Snowball Fight during its debut with the exclusive Snow Bro gun buddy. However, there’s currently no information on whether players will receive a new accessory this year.

Snowball Fight release date

The Snowball Fight game mode is definitely coming to VALORANT during the Christmas season, so we can expect it to return in the next days. Riot Games has yet to reveal the official release date.
