Riot Games has suspended Northeption VCT Pacific player Tenten for his racist remarks during a public match. Another player, fl1pzjder from RRQ has received an official warning.
“We have concluded investigations on the incident involving former Northeption’s TenTen and RRQ’s fl1pzjder. Considerations were made around the levels of conduct by each player, in accordance to Riot’s policies on respectful behavior. Effective immediately, TenTen will be suspended for the next four VCT matches, while fl1pzjder has been issued an official warning letter, with any future misdemeanors resulting in further penalties. At Riot Games, we take matters surrounding sportsmanship very seriously, and we strive to create a positive environment where our players will always feel welcomed and safe,” read the announcement.
TenTen suspended for racist comments
Earlier this month, Norteption terminated its contract with TenTen following the player’s racist remarks in a pug match against other Asian players.
The player apologized on Twitter for his remarks describing them as inappropriate and unforgivable.
I sincerely apologize to those who were offended by my inappropriate remarks. As a professional player and as a person, I deeply regret that I made unforgivable remarks. I also take the punishment from the team very seriously. I'm so sorry.
TenTen was one of the standout players for Northeption. The 20-year-old duelist player was instrumental in Northeption’s success in the VCT Regional Leagues. He is still on the search for a new organization following his departure from Northeption.
