Riot Games is adding the Regen Shield, a new armor type, to their first-person shooter with VALORANT patch 9.10.

Riot Games is intent on keeping VALORANT fresh. We see this through Agent balancing, new Agents to play, new maps to learn, and even with a new weapon in the form of the Outlaw. Well, now a new armor type is coming to VALORANT with patch 9.10 delivering the Regen Shield.

What is the Regen Shield in VALORANT?

The official VALORANT X account released a video showcasing highlights from Episode 9 Act 2 and things we can expect throughout Act 3. They teased the new TDM map Glitch, a Phoenix buff coming in 9.10, and another 9.10 addition, the VALORANT Regen Shield.

The VALORANT video teaser shows up Phoenix with the Regen Shield selected. This is an Agent that can already self-heal, but by the looks of it, Phoenix gets an elimination and his shield begins to increase. We can assume that's how regeneration will work, by getting kills.

We don't see the buy menu at all, so we aren't sure right now how much it will cost. This is just a wild guess thrown out there, but what if for a slightly higher price, you can buy a half shield with regen or a full shield with regen?

That buy determines how much shield you can actually get back by getting kills. Of course, we'll learn more once patch 9.10 gets closer. That's just an idea we think would be cool. Either way, this is set to be a game changer.

When is VALORANT patch 9.10?

Riot patches VALORANT every other Tuesday. Thus, going by the update schedule, patch 9.10 goes live on November 19, 2024. That is not when the Regen Shield comes to VALORANT, though.

More than likely, the content schedule will see the Regen Shield enter the game the following day. We could be wrong and it could go live along with the patch, but we'll just have to wait and see.
