Red Bull Campus Clutch returns for Year 2 with over 500 regional events across four months

The global competition gives thousands of students from various universities an opportunity shine.

Red Bull has announced the return of Red Bull Campus Clutch, the university student Valorant tournament. After a very successful first edition in 2021, the Campus Clutch will bring forth students from universities all over the world to try to showcase their Valorant skills on an international stage.

Red Bull Campus Clutch is the company’s grassroots initiative to promote and help grow the collegiate Valorant scene. The 2021 tournament saw over 25,000 Valorant players taking part in the Red Bull Campus Clutch. There were over 400 events taking place across 50 countries. These events are an excellent opportunity for young Valorant players to showcase their skill and even catch the eye of professional teams. With Valorant going for a franchise-system from 2023, these events are the perfect scouting grounds for any of the potential Valorant franchises.

The tournament will feature over 500 regional events across four months of action. Post-registration for local qualifier events students will be grouped either via country or region for the various events throughout August.

After competing against local rivals, the best Valorant teams will rise to the top and will have to compete on a national level. The winners at the national level, the Red Bull Campus Clutch Final Winners will have an opportunity to represent their country in the World Final.

Where's the Campus Clutch World Final?

Only 50 teams, from amongst the thousands that will attempt to qualify, will compete in the Red Bull Campus Clutch World Finals. These teams will receive an all-expenses paid invite to the LAN event. All members of the team should be above 18 years of age and enrolled in an university.

The World Final will take place on LAN at Sao Paulo, Brazil. With a prize pool of  €20,000, the best teams will also have an opportunity to showcase their talent and skill on a global level. The winning team will also receive an exclusive VIP experience at a 2023 Valorant Champions Tour event.

Last year, Team Egypt emerged as the ultimate winners of the Red Bull Campus Clutch after clawing their way through the regional and national qualifiers. The team had never playued on an international level before and their deep understanding of the game and excellent synergy with each other enabled them to shock others.

The Grand final was an exciting series with Team Egypt losing the first two games of the series to go down 0-2. However, a strong showing by Team Egypt’s  Mohamed "shalaby" Shalaby meant they were able to reverse sweep Team Vitality in the Grand finals.

Red Bull has been hosting several Valorant events both for professional teams as well as collegiate teams over the past few months. They recently announced their Home Ground event for December this year in Manchester. 2022 will also be the first time that we will see NA teams squaring off against EMEA teams in the Red Bull Home Ground event.
