Pacific fans (and FNS) were treated to a classic match in the VCT Pacific 2025 Split 2 Grand Final between Paper Rex and Rex Regum Qeon.

Paper Rex is on a roll as they take the win against Rex Regum Qeon in the VCT Pacific 2025 Split 2 Grand Final last weekend in Chiba, Japan. The defending Masters Toronto champions are headed next to Paris for Champions 2025, looking to display their supremacy once again on the international stage.

PRX has been a force to reckon with the entire split. They have always been a consistent competitor in the region, but empowered with their well-deserved win in Masters Toronto, the team simply looked impossible.

They dropped only one match, against ZETA DIVISION. Amidst this loss, Paper Rex still led Group Omega.

Meanwhile, RRQ was on Group Alpha. Looking to defend their regional championship, they still displayed some dominance thanks to their individual prowess, but DRX were the ones who led the group. RRQ lagged closely at second.

Headed into the playoffs, Paper Rex blazed through T1 and TALON in the upper bracket. Two quick 2-0s later, they punched their ticket to the grand final. Meanwhile, RRQ's early loss to T1 meant that they had to trudge through the lower bracket if they wanted to become the back-to-back champions of the Pacific.

And trudge they did. They slowly but surely crossed off the teams standing in their way: Gen.G, then DRX, then T1, and finally, TALON. After five playoff series played, RRQ now had a shot at defending their title against PRX, who only played two matches in this stage.

The maps told identical stories. It was a classic Pacific rumble, which reached four maps in the best-of-five. The first two maps, Bind and Ascent, went to Paper Rex 13-8 and 13-7, respectively. PRX even found themselves 11-1 in the first half of Ascent!

At this point, it was looking like a PRX sweep. We even got a once-in-a-blue-moon smile from Paper Rex coach Alexandre "alecks" Sallé. Broadcast was quick to dub the smile alecks' Ultimate. They also decided that the desk slam was his Signature ability thanks to its frequent occurrence.

RRQ fought back on Lotus, however, earning a win by winning eight rounds in a row. The final would eventually come to a head in Haven. The winning round that closed out the series told a similar story to the rest of the series: bloody, messy, and some damn good VALORANT played by both teams.

Ilya "something" Petrov was awarded the finals MVP award thanks to his Yoru performances on all four maps.
