The home team lost to Talon and was eliminated from LOCK//IN

VCT LOCK//IN is underway and the format is cruel to the teams, any defeat represents a goodbye to the tournament. In that sense, MIBR lost to Talon in the first game and won't get a second chance of playing in front of the crowd.

In the post-game press conference, the Brazilian squad said that, since it was the first time that the squad played together, the home fans didn't have the effect that they expected. Players shared that in the first map of the series, they felt a few jitters until adapting to the atmosphere.

"Of course, a little fluster can happen, once it is the first big stage of the boys, and also of our team together. jzz, for instance, played as an initiator in a big tournament for the first time, on this huge stage, with a crowd. We will feel a little bit (the crowd). In the fracture, that was their map pick, we played better", Murillo "murizzz" Tuchtenhagen said.

Even though it was a one-match tournament for MIBR, the In-Game Leader of the squad believes there was a lot to learn from the experience. This was the team's first match together and that too in front of the Brazilian homecrowd, one of the most loyal crowds in the world. According to the IGL, they learned how to deal with the jitters of playing in front of a crowd, but the players were also able to show that the job is being well done.

"I believe that it was a good experience for us. I wish that we could play more matches. As I’ve said, on the first map we were a little rough on the edges, still feeling the game, our players are young. Still, this tournament was 100% positive for us. For us, the conclusion is that our job is being well done. We want to arrive even better prepared for the next one, so we can go further into the tournament, for sure", murizzz said.

For the franchise league, MIBR added Matheus "bzkA" Tarasconi, coach of LOUD in 2022. And, according to the victorious coach, the result of one match in LOCK//IN is not a cause of worry for the remainder of the season. Still, he was able to point out some of the mistakes of MIBR in the Talon matchup.

"We’ve lacked in attention. We knew that crws were lurking behind us, but at the same time, Talon was giving the spike site. Many times we entered the spike site open. They were playing from behind, from the sky, and we were using too many resources to enter. At the same time even if we were able to enter the spike site and plant the spike, we weren’t capable of maintaining ourselves inside. This was one of our mistakes", bzkA said.

The result was not the one that MIBR wanted, but the coach also shared that the defeat is not a call for action. He highlighted now is the time to keep their head in place and continue their practice and work as before.

"We don't have to jump ahead in anything that we were doing before. Our job until now was already very nice," said bzkA, MIBR VALORANT coach. "We were preparing very well, all the boys went very well. As a team, we have a healthy environment. We just have to keep working. Is just a matter of time. A tournament like this, with only one BO3, with the crowd, wants it or not, will influence a little bit, mostly in the first map. We will keep doing our job regardless of what happened today."
