Shyy and newcomer mta join Kru esports for the 2024 season.
Kru esports has announced its VALORANT roster for the 2024 season with two new signings. The Americas VALORANT org will retain the core roster, but the new additions will hopefully add more firepower and bring better results. Nicolás “mta” González and former Leviatán player Fabian “Shyy” Usnayo are now part of the Kru esports VALORANT roster.
New roster signings hope to rekindle past glory
Kru has gained popularity in the VALORANT community, despite being a heavy underdog all the way back in 2021. The team rose to prominence with an upset victory over Team Sentinels in VCT Champs 2021. They finished 3-4th at the biggest VALORANT event in 2021 gaining quite a few fans and a loyal following in their region.
The org’s 2022 season saw them attend both the VALORANT Masters event. They finished 11-12th at Masters Reykjavik and 9-10th at Masters Copenhagen. While they couldn’t replicate their VCT Champs 2021 performance, they still had a decent showing. Kru Esports finished 3-4th at the Red Bull Home Grounds #3, where they lost 0-2 to Cloud9 to face elimination.
The team’s performance in 2023 so far has been disappointing. They had a last-place finish at LOCK//IN Sao Paolo. The American team also finished 13-16th in the VALORANT Champs 2023 after securing their slot via the Last Chance Qualifier.

Mta and Shyy join Kru’s ranks
After more than a year on Leviatán, Shyy finally became a free agent this year. The 19-year-old prodigy is one of the best talents from the region and Kru wasted no time in picking him up. Joining alongside Shy is a relative newcomer in mta. The Chilean player has spent nearly five months on before moving on to the big leagues in Kru Esports.
The team has some time to fill and they will undoubtedly attend quite a few OFF//SEASON events. This should allow the newcomers enough time to acclimatize to their new roster and bring out their talent.
