VALORANT Champions Tour 2023 winner jawgemo has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join G2 Esports for the next VALORANT season.

The first Cambodian player to win an international event, jawgemo, is leaving Evil Geniuses in the next few days. According to Alejandro Gomis, an investigative reporter for Sheep Esports, the Duelist reached an agreement to leave the team after being the only player to stay after winning the VALORANT Champions Tour in 2023.

Departure from Evil Geniuses

It's impossible to say that Evil Geniuses had a bad season in 2023. Second place in VCT Masters: Tokyo and winners of the VALORANT Champions Tour, the Canadian team had a golden year. However, after this incredible victory, every player from the initial lineup departed, except for jawgemo.

Both Max "Demon1" Mazanov and Ethan "Ethan" Arnold left for NRG while Kelden "Boostio" Pupello joined 100 Thieves as an in-game leader and Corbin "C0M' Lee joined the Argentinian team Leviatán. The departure of all of his teammates to other teams could be a potential reason for jawgemo to leave as well.

At only 25 years old, jawgemo has been playing for Evil Geniuses since 2022. According to Sheep Esports, jawgemo has been approached by several teams like NRG, but he might be looking for something else.

Towards G2 Esports?

Inside sources of Sheep Esports assure that the Duelist jawgemo has already reached a verbal agreement to join G2 Esports in the 2025 VCT Season. G2 could be looking for some refreshment in this year's team after being third in VCT Masters: Shanghai and eliminated by Fnatic, their direct opponent, from Champions 2024. Will jawgemo be the next Samurai? Let's wait and see!
