G2 Esports or Team Liquid: A well-known battle

Both teams know each other pretty well. They have faced each other multiple times so they know what is coming for them: a heated battle featuring two teams and one wish to continue in the VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 tournament. G2 Esports came from a hard loss against EDG after an incredible first map. After that, EDG regained its confidence and destroyed G2 Esports with two great performances on Bind and a mass destruction on Fracture.

Team Liquid came from an outstanding victory against Sentinels, sending one American team out of their way with a lot of class. With a last map where Liquid won by 13-1, there is no team more confident than them to face this next challenge. Will they be able to stop a VCT Americas team once again in two days?

G2 vs TL: Match recaps

Come back to this section after each match.

Map 1: Haven

Team Liquid started strong with a clean pistol round, but G2 Esports couldn't let that bonus round get lost and jawgemo made a great play for the team. In an elimination match, every mistake could cost you the chance of advancing further in the tournament. The Team Liquid attack was just impeccable. With great picks and a slow start to get some control over the map, Team Liquid got important kills that made their entries so much easier.

Team Liquid asked for a tech pause because of an issue related to Kamo's setup, which delayed the match a little bit. We had a replay of the seventh round in which G2 Esports won the eco and brought the score closer. G2 gained the advantage of the game in the ninth round with a great leaf 4k and a messy round full of fast entries and abilities.

You could see the dedication from both teams trying to make the fewest mistakes possible, leading to a calm and slower game about getting the best picks and taking advantage of that. If you're a fan of constant fights, this was not the best game to watch. G2 came back to the second half with a lot of confidence, won the pistol round, and assured fans of aggressive plays. What a great comeback from G2 Esports!

Map 2: Lotus

Lotus started strong for Team Liquid with another win in the pistol round. G2 Esports struggled on the attacker side, facing massive site control from nAts and paTITek’s abilities combined with kamyk’s heavy damage and Kamo’s speed and mobility.

However, G2 got their spike planted due to Team Liquid's over-rotating, which gave them confidence to get to better spots and off angles. G2 kept going to great entries, making the gap close in terms of the score. Now, just like the first map, G2 controlled the match. But Team Liquid didn't let their guards down and brought the same aggression with a great nAts round. The first half ended up with a 6-6 score. Will Team Liquid be able to win this map and decide everything in the Abyss?

G2 didn't invert the last map tendency with Team Liquid winning the first pistol round and G2 winning the second. This second map was much more disputed with Team Liquid getting closer each time. However, the speed was not the best strategy for Team Liquid since G2 was responding too well to their moves and increasing the score difference.

Team Liquid went home today and G2 advanced to the VALORANT Masters Bangkok Playoffs. Good games!
