FURIA defeats MIBR and wins the VCT Americas Kickoff 2026
No one expected these two organizations to reach the Upper Bracket finals, but both MIBR and FURIA have proven to be in an insanely good momentum. To reach this spot, FURIA had to defeat KRÜ Esports, Sentinels, and G2 Esports.
With their earlier opponents not at full strength, the series against G2 Esports became the ultimate proving ground for FURIA to showcase their true firepower. After an amazing best-of-three (Bo3), they have secured a spot at the Grand Finals. On the other side stood MIBR, another Brazilian contender riding high after an impressive victory over NRG, the reigning Champions winners.

The Grand Final was a true showcase of elite class and gameplay. Both FURIA and MIBR fought to the very end, with the outcome decided on the final map. While many praised MIBR’s outstanding individual talent, it was FURIA’s exceptional team confidence, coordination, and unity that made the difference.
After a back-and-forth first half on Split, FURIA needed only a handful of rounds to seize full control, securing the victory at the VCT Americas Kickoff 2026 and locking in the first seed for Masters Santiago. FURIA had not competed in an international event since 2023, and their strongest regional finish was sixth place in the VCT 2023: Americas League.
