florescent responds to sexual assault allegations

A few days ago, allegations of sexual assault were made against VALORANT pro player Ava "florescent" Eugene by former Game Changers competitor Marceline "karie" Carson on X, among other victims. The accusations mainly concern a past relationship between florescent and an anonymous victim called "Brick." In response, florescent posted a document with conversation records, screenshots, and statements denying any sexual assault allegation.

Before any record, florescent denied all the sexual assault accusations. At the beginning of the document, the player revealed being part of an "extremely toxic from both ends" relationship, which "included many instances of controlling, guilt-tripping, and manipulation". She thanked everyone who made her recognize her "wrong, hurtful, or manipulative" behavior and stayed by her side. All of the events started when both parties were minors. This is the title that initiates a 13-page document with flor's side of the story. She starts to tell that Brick would often access her phone without her consent, which eventually led Brick to see a conversation between flor and another friend and accusing her of cheating. Florescent denies any cheating accusation and reveals that any photo from "another woman" was some fan art that she saved in suggestive poses.

In her statement, Brick accused florescent of appealing to unprotected sexual acts when she was scared of getting pregnant as a minor. Florescent shared various conversations where both talked about the topic and showed flor agreeing with using a condom when initially Brick accused her of "pushing aside the idea of using protection".

In October 2023, Brick allegedly told florescent she was pregnant and showed her a pregnancy test. She later accused flor of not believing her and claimed she was lying. According to florescent, she later found out the test was fake and taken from the Internet. Flor shared a screenshot of a chat where Brick admitted it was a joke. Brick said it "felt like a YouTube prank for a second." In her statement, florescent said she was deeply affected. "I couldn’t sleep, eat, or focus on my daily life because I was worried for her every day."

In the initial accusation, the third part described events from September 3, 2023. That day, Brick and florescent visited the Canadian National Exhibition, also known as "The Ex." They had agreed to go even after breaking up because Brick "didn't want our tickets to go to waste." According to florescent, the breakup happened after she discovered a fake pregnancy. Despite this, they still chose to attend the event. Brick later accused florescent of attempting to initiate sexual activity against her will during the outing.

In the accusation, Brick stated: “We were just sitting in my room watching a movie at my desk when she randomly tried initiating sex. I kept dodging her, but she ignored my discomfort, continuing to flirt with me, make perverted comments, all while making sexual advances.”

Flor responded: "I did not make any sexual advances towards Brick, nor did we watch a movie that morning, as I was on an hour of sleep, falling asleep at around 6:50 am and waking up at 8:00 to head to her house. I was also extremely carsick from the commute being an hour, and when I got to her house, I immediately went to bed from how exhausted I was."

Throughout the document, flor keeps denying any sexual assault allegation. She says that she did not want to go back to the relationship after discovering the fake pregnancy. However, she revealed her intentions of a "only sex" type of relationship. She shared a screenshot to prove that the sexual moment between them was consensual.

Then, flor shared that she changed her phone password after Brick's "stalking tendencies." She added: "Additionally, it has protected me from the continuous swatting threats and doxxing from people that she is associated with." The player kept denying any forced sexual activity in a very detailed statement that you can read directly in the document she shared.

Later, flor accused Brick of deleting conversations to "cover her tracks" on the "suicide baiting incident." She added that she condemns her "immature behaviour" and that she no longer "advocates these kinds of comments or behaviour that I previously exhibited" in another X account where she made objectifying comments. Florescent says her "insecurities and toxic tendencies" were reflected in other relationships after breaking up with Brick.

According to florescent, after the end of her relationship with Brick, she was constantly harassed. Brick would call her from multiple phone numbers, text and send emails, as well as contact her through VALORANT. Since it was a serious problem, florescent decided to text her mom multiple times to get her to stop harassing her. Florescent accused Brick of deleting messages and lying about "breaking contact". She disclosed that Brick sent her messages on April 12, 2024, to come over because she was home alone.

In her statement, florescent revealed that Brick was "afraid" of having Karie, the person who shared Brick's initial statement, over. According to her, Karie was constantly trying to "kiss her" and "pull her on top of Brick when she was under the influence." In the screenshots shared by florescent, Brick also claims Karie was staring at her underwear the whole time and was scared that Karie was going to “kill her.”

Then, the player revealed that she was threatened by Brick, Karie, and other friends. "I would receive threatening messages by Brick herself over Instagram, while also receiving the same over iMessages by either Brick, Karie, or someone associated with them both, as those two are the only people who knew my deadname." Florescent accused Karie of encouraging her toxic behavior when she was a minor. She also actively aid "in Brick’s self-destructive behaviour and self-harm". At the end of the document, florescent clarifies that this was not the reason why she took a break from competitive VALORANT.

Karie, who shared the original sexual assault accusation against florescent, ended up deleting her account. However, you can still have access to the original accusation document here.

At the end of the document, florescent apologized for taking so long to assemble all the material and write the document since she lost her motivation after the original document was published. She then apologized for her past behavior and said that she has been working on her self-improvement. "I never realized that the way I treated certain people was so horrible. I’m going to need time to unlearn the behaviour I’ve shown in the past and improve as a person before I can think of the next steps in my life."
