EG vs FUT full recap

Map 1: Pearl

Pearl started completely in EG's favor. It was their map pick and they started on defense. Everything looked primed for them to run through FUT and that's what they quickly began to do. They put up four rounds before FUT Esports got their first and that would be it for most of the first half. Huge plays from all of EG, including a 3K from Ethan to successfully retake the A Site put them way ahead.

FUT seemed able to reset just before halftime, however. They fought back to earn a couple more rounds prior to switching sides. Once they did, they took the pistol and subsequent round. EG scraped together the win on the bonus round, but FUT retaliated with two more. It looked promising for them as they clawed their way through the deficit. Eventually, heroics from mojj set the team up nicely to soon tie it at 11.

FUT had a chance to close it out, but EG made a heavy push that disrupted the Turkish squad's defensive strategy. That forced yet another overtime here at Champions 2023. The first round of OT was frantic and went in favor of Evil Geniuses. FUT ran out of time and could not get the plant down, but they immediately bounced back with a slaughter of a defensive round. EG had seen enough at that point. Two huge rounds by Boostio cemented the map one victory.

Map 2: Bind

Evil Geniuses started Bind on a roll, too. They put up quite the streak with all players showing their stuff. Boostio, jawgemo, Demon1, Ethan, and c0m were not happy with how Pearl reached overtime. And they showed that with their aggression here. It was six straight for EG before FUT got their first on the board. Well, that one quickly turned to six. FUT battled back with a vengeance and an Ace by MrFalin ensured the tied half.

The second half started out with both teams getting a win. EG decided to buy up after losing the pistol round to keep it 7:7. From there, they didn't even take a second to look back. Evil Geniuses were taking sites with jawgemo leading the charge on Raze. Nothing was going to stop their attacking plan and they quickly got to 11. And that's where FUT tried to push back. They gained a few rounds, but a wild eco win looked to be the nail in the coffin as it brought EG to series point. The final round was quick work and EG took the win and moved on to playoffs.
