We are winding down the finale of VALORANT Masters Bangkok, but first, we need to decide our last Grand Final team. That will be done in a rematch of EDG vs. T1 in the Lower Final of the tournament. They first faced off in the semifinal portion.
T1 has had quite the arduous journey through the Bangkok bracket. But Edward Gaming has shown signs of mortality at this event. So, who will take that second spot in the Grand Final to face G2? Let's watch and find out!

EDG vs. T1 - Which team takes the rematch?
EDG hopes to repeat an international tournament victory after winning Champions 2024. They had some hiccups in Kickoff, but looked mostly unbeatable at Masters Bangkok. Until they faced G2 Esports in the Upper Final and G2 was more than prepared.
When it comes to T1, they lost against Team Vitality in their first match of the event. And after that, they basically had to be perfect. T1 has taken rematch after rematch, beating DRX to make playoffs and eliminating Team Vitality from the tournament.
Now, they are faced with a rematch against Edward Gaming. EDG get a map pick-and-ban advantage, but will that stop a vengeful T1? There's no way we can predict how this one will go. All we know is EDG vs. T1 should be a banger.

EDG vs. T1 - Masters Bangkok Lower Final recap
Read on for a recap of how each map goes down, as this is a best-of-five series. We'll showcase and link you to highlights that give you a better look at the action.
Map 1: Bind
This one took zero time to get hyped. In the opening round, Meteor completely shut down EDG with an Ace. He then took down three more in the next. In a bonus that looked like EDG would win was clutched up by iZu in a 4K to keep T1 rolling. They looked unstoppable in the first handful of rounds.
Another multikill round, this time a 3K from stax, shut down EDG's attack. Another 3K for Meteor in a Flawless round saw T1 simply bully EDG. An awesome 4K from BuZz was not enough to get an eighth on the board, though, as the Spike would detonate for EDG's first round. They'd get to three, with hopes to bring it back after halftime.
Bind would prove to be a bit defense-sided in this series, as EDG snatched the second half pistol to start their comeback. It would take more than one pistol round, though, as T1 took the next in a Thrifty. This half definitely started much quieter compared to the start of the game, but T1 got the next.
They'd continue pushing towards the finish line with an 11:4 lead. That's really all there is to it, as T1 would easily take the following round and get themselves to map point. One round later and we're off to map two of Haven.

Map 2: Haven
T1 wasted no time in continuing their momentum. They only lost one player in the pistol round to go up early here. EDG retaliated to get a first round much sooner than on Bind. And for the first time since Round 4 of map two against G2, EDG has a lead. CHICHOO finally turned it on with back-to-back 3K rounds.
After getting up to four rounds, T1 put together a great defensive stand to get another of their own. A Flawless followed as T1 started to close the gap. EDG would shut down their chance to tie it, however, extending their lead with a CHICHOO 3K. The reigning champs would enter halftime ahead, but not before BuZz put up an Ace to get four.
Edward Gaming took the second half pistol, hoping to put up a map victory to tie things with T1. A 3k from both ZmjjKK and BuZz saw the latter's team take it, though, to get them to five. Three more for BuZz brought T1 closer. EDG would stand their ground and reach double digits, however.
Another 3K from, you guessed it, BuZz put a halt to any EDG victory for now. They forced ZmjjKK to save his Operator two rounds in a row after solid site hits and tied things at 10. In what should have been a runaway second half for EDG saw Meteor take down three to get to map point. And they'd go up by two maps.
Map 3: Fracture
Like Haven, EDG took the opening pistol round. They'd need to keep winning rounds to stay alive in this tournament, as obvious as that sounds. The bonus would go to T1, though, off of a 3K from stax. That'd be all they'd get for a while as EDG started to come alive. Better late than never.
A 3K clutch by CHICHOO prevented T1 from flipping the script. They'd do so in the next, though, as BuZz took off four heads with the Sheriff to T1 their second. They'd put up more rounds and bring the half much closer than expected, but EDG remained in the lead.
Edward Gaming would look to ensure EDG vs. T1 goes to at least one more map. They took the pistol and following round with ease, but T1 would fight back in the bonus. A chaotic round started by BuZz would keep T1 rolling for another round.
A wild post-plant situation with utility and Ultimates galore got EDG to double digits with an extremely close defuse. A much-needed Thrifty then got EDG to 11, keeping their Grand Final hopes alive a little longer. Still, T1 would not go down without a fight. Incredibly, they'd tie it up at 11. Then they'd get themselves to map point, but a 4K from Smoggy pushed it to OT.
EDG persevered through the first round of OT to get themselves to map point. They'd swap to defense with all 10 players fighting at B Site. Some big opening kills by ZmjjKK, who finished the round with a 3K, set EDG up for their first map win in the series.
Map 4: Split
No sweep today! We go to map four of Split. The pistol round starts things well for T1. Three from Smoggy prevented a bonus conversion for a 2:1 score line early on. The two teams would keep things close until T1 finally began to pull ahead, thanks to iZu with a 4K Operator round.
They continued to clutch up with some great team plays, forcing an EDG timeout. The timeout worked as Edward Gaming took B Site, got the Spike down, and won the round. A big hold by Smoggy in the final round of the half kept things close with T1 in the lead.
A big pistol round win went to T1 to push their lead further, followed by the next to grab a nice lead in the late stages of this one. A scrappy fight over at B secured the bonus round for T1 and got them to double digits.
Soon enough, T1 hit 11 rounds and then they reached map and series point. CHICHOO was the last man standing for EDG, needing to take down BuZz and Meteor to defuse the Spike. He snuck onto B through garage, and they were ready. T1 shut him down and are headed to face G2 in the Grand Final.
