DSG impressed in their first series of the VCT GC open qualifiers against SHIFT X with 100,000 viewers watching the performance.
Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang isn't the first content creator to step into esports, but right now, he may be the most paramount. He has formed Disguised, collecting a group of exceptional players that have brought many eyes to competitive VALORANT. With a team competing in VCT NA Challengers and the GC open qualifiers, DSG is on the up and up.
His announcement of a Game Changers team made headlines for a variety of reasons. Regardless of those who praised it or delivered backlash, the team pulled numbers. Prior to facing defeat by Evil Geniuses, DSG GC bested SHIFT X with 100,000 viewers across all streams.

Despite second round loss, DSG saw massive viewership in first series of VCT GC open qualifiers
The team, consisting of Kyedae "Kyedae" Shymko, Jodi "QuarterJade" Lee, Sydney "Sydeon" Parker, Tenzin "tenzin" Dolkar, and Lydia "tupperware" Wilson, had every intention of playing their heart out. Yes, the creation of the team centered around content, but their goal was never anything short of winning.
They proved that in their series against SHIFT X. DSG GC made a statement in their first official map as a team. Icebox went in their favor 13:6 with QuarterJade and tupperware leading the charge at 20 and 25 kills, respectively.
Map two was a much closer endeavor by SHIFT X, but Disguised held on to win 14:12 in overtime on Haven. Again, tupperware topped the server in terms of kills with an impressive final KDA of 29/15/10 as Breach.
The victory wasn't just theirs to celebrate, however. A whopping 100,000 viewers tuned in to watch DSG compete in the first VCT GC open qualifiers of 2023. That number is the total viewers across multiple streams such as the main VALORANT Americas channel and Disguised Toast's watch party.
To put how impactful that is into perspective, the 2022 Game Changers Championship grand final series peaked at 239,334 (per Esports Charts). Needless to say, this was a huge boost in viewership for the Game Changers scene and hopefully some of the 100,000 viewers have been made into fans of GC as a whole.
Up next for DSG is the continuation of the VCT GC Series 1 open qualifiers in North America. They fell to the Decider portion of their group after Evil Geniuses only allowed them five rounds over two maps. In that Decider, they will once again battle SHIFT X for their group's final qualifying spot.
