DRX has eliminated PRX and now advances to the VALORANT Champions 2025 Lower Bracket Grand Final against Fnatic. Can they take it all the way?
After eliminating Paper Rex from VALORANT Champions 2025, DRX is confident in its ability to reach the Grand Finals. During the post-match press conference, the team reflected on their performance, shared their expectations, and discussed their upcoming clash against Fnatic. Can DRX make it to the big stage and claim the trophy?
MaKo's experience
Kim "MaKo" Myeong-kwan has been present in all the Champions runs. This year's is one of the deepest runs he has had, equalling his third-place finish from Champions 2022.
"Even if I'm not aware of it, people around me are telling me this. But what's important to me is, I'm thankful that I didn't give up and that I survived every single game. It's important to keep your eyes on the prize and never give up, and I’m truly grateful for every match we’ve played and for every match still ahead," MaKo said.
On the other hand, Song "HYUNMIN" Hyun-min came from Tier 2 and identifies this experience as one-of-a-kind. "I think I've grown as a player over the years. As for my mindset for Champions, before we started the tournament, I said I just wanted to have as much fun, and it's the same now," the player said. Against Paper Rex, HYUNMIN ended 55/32/4 with a 296 ACS.
DRX faces FNC at Champions 2025
After a dominant 2-0 victory over fan favorites Paper Rex at Champions 2025, DRX head coach Seon-ho "termi" Pyeon looked ahead to their upcoming clash with Fnatic in the Lower Bracket Grand Final. The two teams previously met earlier in VALORANT Champions 2025. Fnatic edged out a 2-1 win to send DRX down to the Lower Bracket.
"I believe that FNATIC has more to lose than us, so they will feel more pressure. If we continue to play like we did today, I believe we can win the next matchup," coach termi added. "I think our team is ready and really focused with the nothing-to-lose mentality, and the players were able to integrate that into today's gameplay, ending up having a lot of fun. Hopefully, we're able to carry this energy into tomorrow as well."
DRX goes to this match as the underdogs. They know how to play against FNATIC, and they believe they can do well, regardless of the maps. "We're aware that Fnatic is a really solid team, but we know their playstyles very well," termi stated.
