After much anticipation from fans from all around the world, the VALORANT Console Open Beta kicked off on Friday, July 26.

Now, instead of players getting codes like they did for the VALORANT Console Limited Beta test, anyone can simply download VALORANT on either the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, and start shooting heads in the Open Beta.

Since its launch in 2020, VALORANT has become one of the most popular free-to-play hero tactical shooters in the world. And, we expect the player base to only grow as the game starts to welcome more fans on console.

If you wish to start playing the VALORANT Console Open Beta, here's how to download it.

How to download VALORANT on console?

Now that Riot Games explicitly told fans that codes are no longer required, anyone who owns a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S can start playing VALORANT.

If you wish to download VALORANT to participate in the Console Open Beta and help Riot Games to make the game as good as it is for PC, here's what you have to do:

  1. Turn on your PlayStation 5 or your Xbox Series X|S.
  2. Ensure that your internet connection via Wi-Fi or cable is working.
  3. Head to the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Store and search for VALORANT.
  4. Add the game to your library to start downloading it.
  5. Play the game once the download concludes. If you don't have an account, the game will prompt you to set up one.

It's currently unclear when the Open Beta will come to an end.

What's the download size of VALORANT on console?

However, to play VALORANT on a console, you must make sure there's enough space on your disk. Luckily, the game isn't too heavy and its download size is 33.98 GB.

While the download size is relatively small for now, it'll get bigger in the future as Riot Games begins to release more updates to console.
