Cloud9 VALORANT continues revamp with official releases of leaf and qpert

Cloud9 VALORANT has confirmed the release of most of its starting roster, and its head coach, as the build towards 2024 begins.

The landscape of competitive VALORANT will look vastly different come 2024. Teams are shuffling their rosters heading towards the end of 2023. That includes Cloud9 VALORANT from the VCT Americas league. Players themselves announced some of the moves, but now the org has come out and said goodbye to the majority of their roster.

We know from Matthew "mCe" Elmore and Dylan "runi" Cade's posts on X they were let go from Cloud9 VALORANT. Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro did the same, but immediately found a home as the sixth man for Sentinels.

The revamp continues as the team lets go of both Mateja "qpert" Mijović and Nathan "leaf" Orf. That leaves just two remaining members from 2023 on the roster. Those players are Erick "Xeppaa" Bach and Jake "jakee" Anderson.

There have been rumors swirling regarding who is moving to Cloud9 VALORANT. As always, leaks and rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. We'll have you covered when any roster moves become official, however.

For now, we just know that Cloud9 will have a mostly new set of players, and a new coach, when the 2024 VCT kicks off. They'll look to have a much more successful year in the long-term compared to how the first year of VCT partnership went.

Their time at VCT LOCK//IN was short-lived, prompting some roster changes. With plenty of questions heading into the regular season, expectations were tempered. It is safe to say they exceeded those expectations with a 2nd Place regular season finish.

Unfortunately, they did not perform to that standard in the playoffs and Last Chance Qualifier. This prevented them from reaching Masters Tokyo or Champions 2023. And just like that, most of them are off to find another team to play for when the new year hits.
