BBL Esports honors the memory of Turkish streamer Jrokez at VCT EMEA: Stage 2 Playoffs

BBL Esports paid tribute to Turkish streamer Jrokez following his passing. In a heartfelt homage, the team went on to win their match.

In the opening match of the VCT EMEA: Stage 2 Playoffs, BBL Esports honored Turkish streamer Oğuzhan "Jrokez" Dalgakıran, who passed away on Aug. 20, by bringing his photograph on stage. Additionally, all the players wore a white thread to pay tribute to his memory.

Tribute to Jrokez

Jrokez was just 26 years old when he tragically passed away after falling from a 12th-floor balcony on Aug. 20. Earlier that same day, he had shared an Instagram story where he mentioned feeling “exhausted” and “lacking energy.” For many fans, this message felt out of character, as Jrokez had been a dedicated creator, streaming almost daily since 2017.

He built a strong community around his passion for gaming and football, and his sudden passing has left many in shock. Turkish authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of his death. Meanwhile, his social media channels have been filled with heartfelt tributes and kind messages from fans around the world.

On August 21, during the opening match of the VCT EMEA: Stage 2 Playoffs, Turkish team BBL Esports paid tribute to Jrokez by bringing a photograph of him on stage. In addition, all the players wore a white thread on their arms to honor his memory.

As many like to say, some things are simply meant to be. BBL Esports triumphed over FNATIC in a close 3-2 series and will continue their run in the VCT EMEA: Stage 2 Upper Bracket, where they will face Team Heretics on Aug. 22. Meanwhile, FNATIC will drop to the Lower Bracket to take on Karmine Corp on Aug. 23.
