In a best-of-five battle, 2Game Esports has toppled M80 to win a spot in the VCT through Ascension Americas 2024.

M80 were a favorite to win Americas Ascension 2023 and 2024. Last year, they came up short against The Guard that eventually became G2, and this year, they fell to the Brazilian team of 2Game. 2Game Esports moved through the Upper Bracket and are your VCT Americas Ascension Champions.

They'll join other BR-based teams in the VALORANT Champions Tour, taking their spot alongside LOUD, MIBR, and FURIA. For M80, it is another year of heartbreak, but for 2Game, they've ascended to the pinnacle of the esport for 2025.

2Game is our third Ascension team to be decided for the upcoming 2025 season. EMEA was the first, and previously on the same day of Americas, we learned of our CN team to earn a promotion.

M80 looked hot going into the contest. They defeated All Knights in a reverse sweep best-of-five Lower Final. The momentum was absolutely in their favor, but the map pool did not go their way as 2Game took advantage of moving through the VCT Americas Ascension Upper Bracket.

2Game started VCT Americas Ascension strong, but barely hung on to get out of the Round Robin Group Stage. They lost to M80 to end that Group Stage, though now they've beaten them twice in the Playoffs.

M80 got out to 2-1 map lead and 2Game responded. 2G had a masterful attack side on Haven and following that, the match went to Bind, a map M80 has not played all year. In fact, in a poetically sick way, M80 last played it in their loss to The Guard in 2023's Grand Final.

Once again, Bind would prove to be their undoing. The lead heading into the half was too much to overcome. And 2Game Esports punished M80 to hoist the VCT Americas Ascension 2024 trophy. Their ticket is punched to the highly competitive VCT Americas, where they'll need to earn their stay for future years.
