"We plan to release an emergency patch focused on fixing critical bugs and unintended behaviors."

Bandai Namco Entertainment has issued an official statement about last week’s TEKKEN 8 Season 3 patch notes. The statement arrived after the developers received more than 700 feedback reports and after strong community backlash.

TEKKEN 8 Season 3 patch response

According to the official announcement, the developers will target elements that cause excessive rewards while working to balance offense and defense around the Heat system moving forward. They will also implement gradual fixes through behavior and performance adjustments.

“In Ver.3.00.00, we implemented adjustments aimed at maintaining each character’s individuality while reducing excessive rewards — particularly those stemming from the Heat system and character-specific enhanced states — in order to improve overall balance,” the team stated. “However, we recognize that the battle experience we intended to deliver has not fully met your expectations.”

“We are currently reviewing priorities while considering fixes for bugs, adjustments to behaviors that result in excessive rewards, and performance tuning centered on the Heat system. Fixes that can be addressed in the short term will be implemented sequentially, while changes with significant impact will be introduced step by step through each update after sufficient verification.”

TEKKEN 8 Season 3 emergency patch notes

The TEKKEN 8 Season 3 emergency patch, called Ver.3.00.01, will arrive March 25 at approximately 7 p.m. PT. This update will fix critical bugs and unintended behaviors. It will also focus on issues with strong community response while limiting changes to areas with minimal overall impact. Then, Ver.3.00.02 will arrive mid-April. This will be followed by TEKKEN 8 Ver.3.01 slated for late spring.

Ver.3.00.01 will not be TEKKEN 8’s first emergency patch. Similar action was taken during Season 2 last year after Ver2.00.02 overcorrected the game’s balance toward offense. The developers acknowledged the imbalance and apologized for the disconnect between their intentions and previously stated policies. Katsuhiro Harada responded publicly last year as well, agreeing that the backlash was justified.
