The Street Fighter 6 Drive System involves the Drive Gauge plus Overdrive, Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Drive Rush, and Drive Reversal.
Street Fighter 6 has a new Drive System that's unique to the game! Read on to learn how the Drive Gauge works in Street Fighter 6.
Street Fighter 6 Drive System
The new system mechanic in Street Fighter 6 allows for different styles of play. It features the Drive Gauge that's located under each player's health bar. It's also the resource for moves such as Overdrive, Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Drive Rush, and Drive Reversal.
Overdrive
Overdrive attacks are enhanced versions of special moves in Street Fighter 6. These moves require two bars of the Drive Gauge. If you do either two punches or kicks while making a special move, then the move becomes an Overdrive Art.
What is Drive Impact in Street Fighter 6?
Drive Impact debuts in Street Fighter 6 as a universal attack. This means every character in Street Fighter 6 can use it. It uses up one bar of the Drive Gauge and has armor that can absorb and counter enemy attacks. Using this move in a corner can result in a Wall Splat.
How do you Drive Parry in SF6?
Drive Parry is a move that can immediately defend against all attacks such as high attacks or low attacks. However, it cannot defend against throw attacks. Players can instantly execute or hold down Drive Impact in Street Fighter 6. Upon activating Drive Parry, the Drive Gauge starts consuming bars. A perfect Drive Parry results in a slowdown and a huge punish.

Street Fighter 6 Drive Rush
Drive Rush can be used by every character in Street Fighter 6. It can be done by doing a Drive Parry and tapping forward twice. This costs one bar of the Drive Gauge after canceling out of Drive Parry. Drive Rush can also be performed by tapping forward twice after a cancelable normal attack. This version costs three bars of the Drive Gauge instead.
What is Drive Reversal in SF6?
Drive Reversal lets you do a counterattack after you block your opponent's initial attack. It uses up two bars of the Drive Gauge. This move can help you get out of sticky situations.
What is the Burnout state in Street Fighter 6?
In the middle of battle, players should watch out for the new Burnout state that happens when the Drive Gauge is empty. If you end up depleting your entire Drive Gauge, then you enter the Burnout state.
This means you cannot use any Drive System attacks until the Drive Gauge bar is fully replenished. A depleted Drive Gauge results in a character entering a burnout state that doesn't allow them to use any Drive attacks until the Drive Gauge is fully replenished. Make sure to avoid the Burnout state near corners.
